I most certainly have wanted revenge. Problem was and probably still is I do not know how, or do not feel confident enough in my abilities to do it effectively, fear that even if the bastard gets what he deserves the blowback on me will be so bad the original bullying will seem tame by comparison, as an adult I could face legal consequences.

Also as a mature adult I understand sometimes it is best not to give the attention seeker attention. Which situations require retaliation and which do not is something I have yet to figure out.

I do that too! Very effective maneuver.

I have two adages regarding revenge.

1. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

2. Living well is the best revenge.

I especially like the latter, it has served me well.

3. Before you embark on a journey of revenge, first dig two graves.

I always have a great comeback 10 minutes later. Then it is too late as everyone has moved on.

Everyone has their own opinion of everything. You’re going to find people with views contrary to your own & trying to get at you everywhere. I don’t waste my time with them. It is easier to ignore them. If you retaliate, where will it end?

I was accused & blamed aLOT as a kid for things beyond my control or I had no understanding or knowledge of. I tried to defend myself a lot of the time but usually failed miserably. I never wanted revenge thou except when I was going through a psychotic depression; I was having fantasies about harming & killing people who I felt wronged me. The rest of the time I just want to be treated fairly & I learned I have to fight or have others fight for me in order fo that to happen.

I think of Denis Istomin and how he reacted to those who said it couldn't be done. He worked hard to prove them wrong. Success is really the best revenge. I haven't had a lot of success in the traditionally way that is measured, but I have had a lot of my own successes. I wasted a lot of time trying to prove others wrong. I'm not making that mistake now.

As Denis Istomin said, "I don't think about a comeback. I'm here now." He didn't let hardship destroy him. He may not have won a grand slam (yet), but he has won two ATP titles and made a clay court (his weakest surface) final and defeated Novak Djokovic. Nobody predicted that when he was fighting for his life in a Tashkent hospital at age 14 following a car accident.

In the same way, I couldn't have predicted coming as far as I have come. More big changes might not come, but who knows? I am still working hard and looking forward.

i do this nowadays. When I was a younger child, I was much more hot-headed in bullying type situations and I would very much react. I became more passive the older I got, though.

Yes, I have a very strong thirst for revenge if I have been bullied by someone. I tend to do it with subterfuge rather than with violence. For the most part, I have learned to control my anger and use the rage I feel as fuel as motivation to get things done. My Dr. Frankenstein side gives me ideas when I am thinking that way.

I was dealing with a bully at work this year, up until he was forced to switch jobs to a different department. Seems he lost his "promotion" that he thought was in the bag. I had talked to the people who were in charge of deciding his fate and showed them evidence of his bullying ways with me. They shot it down.

I am still holding a special piece of evidence against that bully should he retaliate against me in any way. Lets just say HR will love this one, as he admitted that he bullied me in a written note (in his handwriting, with his signature) given to me by one of his "friends". I think he has forgotten about that. I have more to back that one up if needed.

Back when I was in high school (full of bullies), two would not have been enough. I considered that I was already dead from the start. I do not normally condone that type of violence, but it was the mental state that I was in. Thankfully, I was moved to a different school and a chance at life.

When I posted the quote , I thought two isn't going to be enough for some posters here. Sometimes that 'already dead' mentality is scary to bullies , people are less likely to f**k with someone who appears to have nothing to lose not that I am suggesting this to anyone here.
