What would be good things to look for in a place?

Taste varies, but I'd look for a quiet place first, with a view of some trees or other greenery. One of the finest rooms I ever had was a converted sun porch with northern exposure. The kitchenette was tiny but ample. Shared bathrooms are not usually much of a problem - you can just keep a bag of things to take along. A shared kitchen or other common area lets you socialize enough to stave off cabin fever, but retreat to your own room at any time. You might want to live with a roommate who understands your limitations, and will field any interruptions.

Unless you rent the apartment above you, you can't guarantee it will be empty

Loud music is a lot noisier than footsteps


I'm not suggesting you hope the apartment above you is empty, I'm suggesting you live on the top floor of your building.




Apartments on the top floor of the building are sometimes more expensive than other floors


Usually the only 15 year olds that can pay for their own apartments, are professional models and actors

There are other jobs, but not many.
