I found the cause of autism / spectrum conditions.
Also, what are your credentials? Do you have a relevant science degree from a reputable university? Is there any valid reason why we should believe that you know what you are talking about?
Where may we find the thesis of your research? Did you perform any actual research, or did you just read a cherry-picked set of articles that would support your pre-conceived ideas?
Did you announce your findings in a relevant and reputable scientific peer-review journal? Have you even submitted your thesis and findings for peer-review? Who, in fact, are the peers (if any) who reviewed your thesis and replicated your findings?
Again: evidence, please?
Mods, why aren't you removing this BS?

Autism is such a complex disorder it is not logical that 'what will work for one will work for another'.
That's why things like extensive clinical testing, meta analysis, double blind studies, peer review etc exists.
And it would seem likely that if what causes autism had been discovered and any kind of definitive treatment had been established, people like Temple Grandin, Tony Attwood, Simon Baron-Cohen, David Amaral, Olga Solomon, Connie Kasari, Rene Anand, Gregory Abowd etc would be talking about it.
Why?
This is not their area of experience nor expertise. So, why would you expect them to be talking about it?

Because it's not BS?
The link between the digestive tract & ASD is unquestionable. The OP has simply posted a finer detail s/he may have learned that hasn't been discussed here yet.

It's extremely questionable.

Because it's probably the one and only post from the OP and it's causing a discussion which hasn't got ugly yet .
And it hasn't been reported.

Hypocrisy is the greatest luxury. Raise the double standard
Considering the OP has me/cfs and can't answer questions they seemed to manage a mighty amount of text in the first post. Seems to me like... I am making a bold statement but you can't argue with it.

It takes much more than an Internet connection, an obsessive focus, and a lot of spare time to discover a ‘cause’ for anything.
So let me make this official: I’m calling BS on the OP’s claim.. Now watch him/her get all indignant because I’m not turning cartwheels and shouting ‘Hallelujah’ over his/her alleged results. Watch him/her present a lot of unrelated ‘facts’ and convoluted ‘reasoning’ in a vain effort to ‘prove’ his/her claim. Watch him/her attack anyone who does not hail him/her as a great scientist with an even greater scientific discovery.
(It’s always the same ... and I’m betting that this is no different from past ‘discoveries’.)
But if he or she turns out to be the Albert Schweitzer of autism and have an actual cause/cure, then I will withdraw my protest and proclaim the effort as real.

No. It isn't. Medical research has already provided us with these answers.

Replace the word "THE," with "A," and your stress levels might come down out of the stratosphere.

Well, the OP used the word "THE," not the word "A."
Fnord gets sarcastic a lot but in this case his critique is justified. Personally, I hope we never hear from the OP again. He/she does not provide intellectually sound discussion.
edited to add: and is on some kind of ego trip.

Personally, I think you're being rude. Even for someone on the spectrum. And especially since you're being hypocritical by suggesting that the OP is under some sort of obligation to provide you with "intellectually sound discussion," and you're free to post whatever noise you feel like in the moment. Lastly, this isn't your sandbox to kick anyone out of & I'm glad that it isn't. Perhaps you just fear change and new information and this is how you respond to it - with rudeness - or what comes across as rudeness, anyways. Maybe this is just your autism manifesting itself online w/ such socially unacceptable exclusive behaviour vs. the inclusiveness one might expect on a support forum.
The OP learned something, may have even discovered something, and shared it here with us. If you're not interested in discussing it & have nothing nice to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything at all.

Now that I've slept on it & have a coffee in me this morning, the OP has me wondering if his discovery of the effects of endogenous acetaldehyde on ASD may be one in the same with the digestive nature of My ASD & the way I treat it. Makes me wonder if we haven't stumbled upon two ends of the same string, sort of thing. Perhaps, I too, have this chemical imbalance in my own digestive tract and it's one of the things that I correct via diet/supplements etc. I'm going to have to do some reading to learn up about it. It may be premature, but it's a bit exciting to goldfish to think that this may be a specific, measurable, chemical marker that could be included in a formal lab test/study of myself and how I treat My ASD. ![]()

I find the article lacking adressing potential relationship between common in ASD picky eating and gut microbiota.
It is quite possible that gastrointestinal problems contribute to higher discomfort and distress, even imbalanced neurotransmitter levels, causing more obvious "autistic" behaviors.
Improving one's overall health is likely to raise their functioning.

Mhmm, because this study wasn't of a treatment. It was compiled by analyzing 137 prior studies & concluded with the fact that based on all of this information, there may be a simple cost effective treatment possibility. Where they left off a couple years ago is where I picked up 6+ years ago and have been treating My ASD symptoms via treating the gut dysbiosis. They simply haven't gotten there yet in their formal studies.
I find it funny that people here still post things like "gastrointestinal problems contribute to higher discomfort and distress," instead of "gastrointestinal problems cause ASD symptoms." I've been very transparently telling y'all for 6+ years that these intestinal issues cause, or greatly exacerbate, textbook ASD symptoms & that treating them alleviates these symptoms significantly and allows me to live an extremely highly functioning very social second life.
*shrug* You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make 'im drink.

Does any study show gastrointestinal treatment helps with social intuition?
