I used to ask if someone was a boy or a girl as a young child because I didn't know the difference between a boy and girl by looking at them.

When I was growing up, it was impossible NOT to know the difference between a boy and a girl.

Girls didn't wear pants to school when I went to elementary school.

You can ask "what pronoun do you use?".

Even better, ask the name and use the pronoun that matches the name

Non binary people prefer they and "they" is a word people use when they don't know what pronouns to use. Some people lose their s**t when they are misgendered on accident, cis and trans. Online, some of them expect people to just know their gender magically and they don't even have their pronouns or gender listed in their profile and even if they did, some people don't even pay attention to these things so they use either pronoun that comes to their head when referring to a user. I don't lose my s**t if I am called a he despite having a female pronoun in my name. It's the internet.

A 7 year old child, who's obsessed with numbers answering the phone and asking the person on the other end, "How old are you?" I was that 7 year old.

When someone asks you to describe someone, it is inappropriate to describe them as fat and having big boobs.

I did that when I was 18 and I put that person in a awkward position when I was looking for my mother.

Tone is something which can be mastered or misused by anyone but easily missed, especially with AS. Talking in the wrong tone can be perceived by others as extremely inappropriate.

For example, using a loud or direct tone when consoling someone who has just lost a loved one, or using a quiet tone when trying to be assertive.

A six year old obsessed with the number 6 refuses to go to any other counter of the post office. This lasts for a year, much to her mother's frustration. I was that 6 year old. There were 10 counters.

Never once did I look around and think 'that grown up isn't two either'. Just 'if I go to that counter I'll become two'.
