How do they know a cop is coming so they know to turn their music off?

It's usually the same people and on average it takes a cop about 45 minutes to get here whenever I call

But how do they know when someone has called the cops? Surely they don't see you picking up the phone and talking to them.

I'm sorry that his injury was worsened, but I also agree with those who think he shouldn't be driving if he can't handle noise. Traffic cops aren't always gonna be there to enforce the rules, and that kind of noise is something that doesn't usually bother people that much. No one can expect the many to go out of their way to conform to the needs of the few

They know me and I have called enough times so they know that I will call. We have been doing this for years. And other neighbors sometimes call as well. But there are three neighbors in particular that do this and I think it is on purpose because they also have called me all kinds of names when I have asked them to turn it down and they have threatened me. One time I called the cops and the guy literally drove of as the cop was coming down the street.

This is not about not handling noise. He handles noise just fine. But when someone is blasting a stereo so loudly that it literally vibrates your car and your body so intensely to the point of agonizing pain, that is not about handling noise.

I don't understand why everyone thinks that people like he and I are at fault for having neurological responses to people literally breaking the law. That really makes me angry. If people want to blast their music, they should wear headsets. Disturbing the peace is still a law. And it doesn't matter if other people don't mind it. It is still the epitome of disrespect and selfish self entitlement and it does hurt many people. People like me should not be told that we should not be allowed to drive or to go to public places or to be in our own homes because other people want to blast music as loudly as they possibly can. In fact, I am thinking of having this thread blocked because it is making me so angry and causing me massive amounts of stress.

I don't think that is really what anyone is trying to say, at least not on this thread. I was not suggesting you or your friend should be barred from driving just for having neurological issues. Worst case senerio if ones neurological issues prevent them driving safely, then they probably should not, it sucks but some people really cannot drive because of problems they have.

I wasn't suggesting your friend shouldn't be able to drive, just that he needs to make sure to drive safe. based on further comments since I first posted sounds more like your friends mirrors were off rather than that he made a quick lane switch without looking and signaling, so that is what I was picturing when I first responded. But sounds like he is taking the proper steps by getting his mirrors fixed so he can see the blind spot. That means next time something like this happens he'd be able to see better and make sure its safe before moving lanes.

It is unfair and horrible that people blast their bass at full volume, especially since it can cause severe sensory issues for some. But chances are it won't be going away any-time soon so as much as it sucks and is unfair, its just an unpleasant part of life that exists. But perfectly understandable to be angry and frustrated about it.

Thank you so much Sweetleaf. We are both extremely conscientious drivers. My friend even worked as a Lyft and Uber driver for awhile until he realized that it cost him more than he was making. It is a real shame that people have to be so entitled and selfish. That is the real issue. No one, Autistic or not, should have to be bombarded with other people's music. It's just plain rude.
