There's an episode of the "Brady Bunch" where all the kids got the measles.

They didn't make a big deal out of it. The kids actually had fun because their parents were at their beck and call LOL

I actually don't believe the writers on that show really knew how serious the measles could be.

One of my favourite shows as a kid  ... Funny ... I have the 2 albums they made in my LP collection(my sister had them shipped over from the US back in the day). Tell no-one  !

The bummer----is that German Measles is really a mild illness---except when it comes to it causing birth defects.

Back when I was a kid in the 1960s, getting the measles, mumps, and chickenpox was not considered a big deal. They were called the "usual childhood diseases."

Yes they were.

I got the German measles(Rubella) and the chicken pox.

The German measles were fun. I got to stay home from school while not feeling sick.

I do not remember being vaccinated, but I am pretty sure I received what kids received back then which was much less than today's regimen. Somehow I am autistic anyways :D.

I made sure I got my shingles vaccine this year because childhood chicken pox leaves one vulnerable to the excruciatingly painful condition.

The only vaccination that I had was for polio. I was in kindergarten and they were testing an oral version. I remember lining up and getting a spoonful of medicine. I’ve had measles, mumps and chicken pox. The “usual “ childhood diseases as KraftieKorti said.

I stopped being afraid of “shots” right after I received a booster shot with the DPT vaccine when I was 10.

My mum is/was a halfhearted antivaxxer, so I think I had one or two, but not sure which ones

Ooooo! I just remembered my other vaccination. It was for smallpox. Big needle and they twisted it about it seemed. Thats the one that left the round scar on your upper arm, usually your left arm.

^I'm not sure if the smallpox vaccine is given any more. Maybe in some countries they still do.

I was vaccinated as a baby and as a young child. I got a booster shot when I was in my teens because I was bitten by my pet rat.

I had the chicken pox when I was 5 and then again when I was 19. When I was 5 it was really mild. It was a different story when I was 19. I felt awful, like I was getting the flu. I ached all over and my skin hurt. That lasted for 2 days. Then I got the pox. I wasn't sure what I had because I didn't have that many pox. But they were all through my scalp and even on the soles of my feet. That was strange. I went to the doctor and he tested me for immunity. I'm still not immune to the chicken pox! So I can get it again. I never knew that there is a vaccine for shingles. That's handy to know.
