SHE said... it's an important tool that your brain gave you for a REASON.

Interesting. I'm so tightly controlled and so anxious as a result. If I start to let loose, I'm pretty sure my NT friends are going to think I'm making myself ASD. Of course if I am less anxious as a result that could "justify the means".

Your NT friends should understand if they love you . maybe you would explain a bit or send links. If you already have anxiety thinking about how you might be coming across to someone else just adds to the anxiety.

Some stims one can hide or pass off as normal.

When I do my version of flapping its more of a shaking hands around like cool people did at high school (when someone said something funny or rude or idk ..)

but still sometimes people say- 'Are your hands ok?'. I just say yes, or, this is just something I do. Don't explain any further and they leave it at that.

Actually as a mom you already have too much weight to carry in this life.
it's not worth it to deny yourself of anything that would ease the load right?

TY. This makes me cry. Good cry. I put on such a good act. With emotional or physical pain both, the worse it is, I am seemingly more happy (moderate) or calm (severe). It looks like "no problem over here". And I am FROZEN - with all the massive internal chemical activity that goes along with that. Yes, I think I will let my stim out more. I had a rough morning (nothing much in the scheme of things, but moderate for me) and stim could help right now. Thank you for the assurance.
