I used to until I found out I have celiac disease. Once I eliminated gluten form my diet the gut problems went away. Cutting out the gluten also keeps the more negative aspects of AS under control. I now have a metal clarity that was never there before.

This is not the first time I see gut complaints getting posted here. It suggests that gut issues run higher in the AS population than it does among NT's. Could it have a thing or two to do with our sensory issues? Could it be our hypersensitivity issues include food allergies or food intolerances?

For example there is that new "0 Trans Fats" feature on all the chips and other potato snacks. I get a stomach reaction when I eat that, but OTOH I've heard quite a few NT's get the same problem too when they eat that. A new entry on my dietary blacklist now.

I too have "a bit of a nervous stomach" but found a way to manage that without medical intervention: no pork, no dairy (unless lactose-free or from goat), and no processed foods.
