Here in the suburbs of Helsinki the hedgehogs run all over the place. About 18 of them found my place when I left my door open at night for my cat. They would come in to eat out of the cat food bowl. Tey are not as responsive as other animals and fought continuously amongst themselves.
When out walking and I come across people walking their dogs and I look at the dogs. Sometimes this makes them nervous as most people ignore dogs but frequently they are surprised and complimented by the attention. The intelligence of animals is grossly under rated by humans.
