I don't think its an AS trait. It sounds more like you are from the older generation that doesn't adapt well to technology.

re: the NT mind - they do not come with a downloadable instruction manual....and one here on the forum said (about my comment), "Yes, and if they did, it would be obsolete." True. Plus, NT minds are clouded with emotions which are indecipherable and I cannot possibly untangle those variables. Seemingly, emotions follow no pattern, plus they change unpredictably, and some NTs can truly be mean. So, I prefer mechanical since it's fluidic/logical.
Actually, I was talking about myself. I ALWAYS knew I was odd, but I guess I am simply AS. So even if there WAS an NT manual, it wouldn't do me much good. 8-( I guess I can think in all ways, but visually it is like peripheral vision, so I really can't read.

Somewhere there is a quote (in paraphrase): "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." Well, this is in fact how NTs operate! What are the implications of that? <Separate thread, probably>
OH MAN, don't get me started! I HATE clinton, but that was the ONLY thing he said I agreed with. It is a shame he didn't understand it. But just last friday, some at my job kept trying the same thing and expected a different result. I gave them the SAME quote in response!

Thank God (minus religious aspects) we're not Wal-Mart greeters, guidance counselors, professional 'people persons,' etc. I would be so fired.
Hey, I interviewed for ANOTHER position, and was TURNED DOWN!! !! ! The stated reason? They didn't feel I had "soft skills" or "people skills"! LUCKILY, I checked out technically with over 100%!(After passing all the test questions, they gave me MORE! I passed every one) So I got the highest position that DIDN'T require people skills. Oddly, I am STILL doing the same job, because they couldn't find anyone to fill that position!
