Yes. If I can't find something I want it will ruin the entire day because I can't think of anything else all day long.

I can get especially  if I think someone else lost something of mine. I used to get extremely pissed when my mom took stuff I left out and put it away without remembering what she did with it. Even worse she sometimes recycled magazines that I wanted to keep. Then she can't even remember if she recycled it or just put it away somewhere, but you can never be sure and will never know, so you just keep looking and looking.  There were a few times I felt like I literally wanted to kill her.

Heh, my whole life I would go insane if I lost stuff, and when I was a child it was more frequent then when I am now as an adult. Now I move stuff around or carry them with me much less, i know to check more often if i bring something, im more organized and because i live alone now I have a place for everything and know im the only 1 who can move stuff around.

The item I lost the most of since I was little was keys, i brough them with me everywhere I went and was obsessed with having keys to everything and anything, and i lost them quite a bit, when this happened I would blaim God :( . It was 99% always my fault and 1% mommies.

CUrrently im actually looking for a video game, GTA: San Andreas for PS2. Try as I might I simply cant find it, it has yet to leave my thinking, im so organized i know where it should be, but for days of course its not here.

Not only do i know where everything is and very rairly loose anything, but I realize its probably not good to blaim God for my mistakes. hehe.

This behavior of course gets me MORE frustrated and I begin to go around the house just looking at places until someone asks me if I need help. They, of course, find it within ten minutes.

This I recognize. :)

If I am looking for something that I want, I will try to look everywhere in my house. After about 30 minutes I start to get very angry and irrational and start to accuse people of stealing the thing that I was looking for.
Sometimes this will lead into a meltdown but at other times I will go into complete rage mode and just throw and hit things. Or I might just shut of

I don't think this is necessarily an aspie thing...I just think that at times people with AS may over-react on such occassions.

Im pretty sure different versions of my self play games on me by placing thing in stupid locations so, even moments forward, i can never find them with any rationality. It's a total mind game and i feel like i lose more than i win.

I have had no end of panic attacks over my keys and cellphone. I also keep my purse close to me, because it don't want it lost or stolen. It's a huge headache to replace all of your personal documentation.

Yep...it's a real hassle. You have to make all those phone calls!

Yes, can't stand to lose the things I have decided are vital (wallet, keys, phone, Staff ID.). They have to be in the same place, or it's panic time.

It doesn't usually make me lose my self-control, but the stress of losing a thing can feel pretty strong. I find it very hard to rest until I've found it.

I tend to get angry, but try to think of other things/plans to do instead when I see the issue becomes too frustrating, or when time is short

This sounds very familiar.

Actually, finding things is one of my gifts.

If that doesn't work, I say a prayer to St.Anthony
(transferring problem away from me) and have a nap.
When I wake, the lost object will be right in front
of my face.

Having a ritual like this prevents meltdown.

A few months ago I lost a little piece of my earbuds. I had backup, it wasn't a disaster. I retraced my steps on campus for an hour in search of it. I didn't find it. I didn't cry, but that's because I don't really cry. I was extremely upset.

I lose things a lot, especially when my life lacks sufficient structure (which of course is an abnormally high level of routine and predictability, because I'm autistic). It's a pretty sh***y feeling.

So I don't blame you at all.

I have a similar type of reaction when I don't understand a small mathematical detail in my work, no matter how irrelevant. I just can't move on until I get it. I try! I do try. Maybe one day I'll develop the ability through therapy, but as of now I really just can't.
