I ignore it, exorcise it from my life in all its forms - will not even listen to a commercial - will lower the volume - change channels - look away - and logos will never find themselves in my life - and if they do manage to somehow infiltrate - I sanitize the item - cutting out, marking, removing with paint thinner - because nobody owns me and I'm nobody's free advertiser for their product.

I couldn't have said the same thing better. I especially hate it when they use the same stupid cliches over and over and over and over again. One I especially loathe is when they say a price is, say $99.99. Why not just say 100? Its just a pennys worth of difference. Is that supposed to make the price seem LOWER or something? We're not stupid, so stop using all those 9sssss...

Advertising doesn't affect me at all.

I go out and buy whatever I need, unlike my NT peers who need the latest thing on tv and will max out their credit to obtain it, i refrain unless I feel it is nessissary and not the 'latest thing'

Most advertising, I'm either indifferent to or so annoyed with, that I want to make sure I never buy the product, even if I really would like it. The only advertising that really affects me positively is something that's honest, straight, and to the point. Something without bells and whistles. I appreciate those types of ad's because I feel as if I'm not being conned into buying something I may not have bought without their "funny" or flashy ad.

I agree about the 9s! All prices should be whole numbers, with the tax already added. That way we could pay in cash and not end up with a huge collection of pennies, nickels and dimes.

In Ireland prices tend to be in whole numbers, and tax is already figured in.

Anyway, isn't it frustrating that the same NTs who are stupid enough to fall for really obvious marketing techniques can't be fooled into not noticing our Aspishness? Arrggg!
Ok I know some of you CAN fool them, and I can sometimes, but I really feel it ought to be way easier than it is.

I am very resistant to advertising. I usually make my final decision as to which product to buy when I'm at the supermarket.

Sometimes I find commercials entertaining, but after that they can get annoying. GEICO ads, for example. They make you laugh the first few times, but not after that. If I were to get car insurance, I would shop around, get recommendations, etc. I would not let a caveman influence my decision

It can be taken as a generality that advertising is manipulation. Merely reveling the existence of a product or a price is useful. Beyond that it is usually manipulative and filled with misdirection.

If I see an ad too many times, I make a conscious decision NEVER to buy that product.
