I have a pillow I have used for two years and I'm attached to that... It is stained from me spilling my bottle of mountain dew: code red on it when I going on a car trip and it has holes in the pillow case but I still sleep with it every night.

Me too i adore rocks and crystals; got them near my bed and just holding one in my hand is very calming. Cold and smooth and so dense/SOLID. It's very grounding/reassuring and comforting. And shiny silvery things ( incl. tinsel and that foil insulation stuff!), and beautiful coloured enamelled objects , and heavy glass. And pottery with silky, skin-smooth metal-glazed surfaces and Raku with its fine skin lines , and smoked etc, and white A4 paper, and maps. And pieces of wood smoothed by water , or gnarled in knots.
Def a thing for objects.
I've just recently started to let myself really get into them again after an anxiety-induced famine or judgemental self-repression for last 10 years.
I missed them.
I love flea-markets and beaches and walks in woods as a result!! !

I have my pink hooded sweatshirt that i got in college. I wont get rid of it for anything. Its good to see fellow rock hounds here. My passion for a long time was fossils. My husband and i actually went to Glenrose, texas to hunt fossils for a date. I still love rocks and have a rock i just happened on when i was a child in colorado. I picked it up to throw it in a river, but upon looking at it, realized it had a face in it. Had to keep it. I had a stuffed cat when i was small that i carried everywhere... i mean everywhere. it went on vacation with me.

I always felt attachment to objects, especially those small and shining ones, those which could be held in my hand by me - pieces of minerals, small figurines, some plush toys, generally souvenirs from places visited by me. I find objects more interesting than people.

The objects I was most strongly attracted to as a child were the ones the bullies were most likely to grab from me. Before I go on, let me give you a little background. In preschool, I had a few bad experiences, where bullies would grab something from me, and start running around with it or playing Keep Away, while I frantically tried to take it back. Ever since then, NONE of my possessions ever left home, with the exception of school supplies, clothes, and occasionally food. As a result, I developed attraction to items that bullies often target: small stuffed animals, plastic figurines, keychain flashlights, and unusual pens (like the promotional ones for prescription drug companies).

Hahaha, me too :D

If I buy a notebook with a particularly attractive cover I will never use it. I have a small pad of notepaper in the form of $100 NZ dollar bills (you're supposed to write on the back) but I absolutely cannot bring myself to use them. I've had them for four years now and like to look at them occasionally. I will use favourite pens but feel very sad when they run out of ink and will keep them when they are empty.

I do have a few rocks that are important to me - one in particular that I have to have by my laptop. I have small collections from places that are significant to me.

Certain items of clothing are important, some of which I still wear after 15 years or so. And books, gosh, books - I can very rarely part with a book.

Places are equally important. I moved to another part of the country two years ago and have had to leave my most important places behind, but I dream of them regularly and I know they will always be there, awaiting my return. When I left I filled a jam-jar with rocks, moss, twigs and leaves from one of my favourite places so that I can take the top off and get a good sniff of home. I haven't told anyone that before
