I have this too. Sometimes it is difficult because I can't tell whether the noise has stopped or if it is just repeating itself in my head.

i did wonder about that, actually. when i was a kid i used to intentionally stare at a light for a few seconds so that i could make the blob of light move in different directions and around furniture sort of like a computer game. it does seem like it's a sensory process like that.

shades of me: i could be wrong, but i thought all people could hear the noise that electrical equipment makes? i remember my friend from high school saying she could hear those noises too but i don't think she was particularly sensitive. both her and myself could detect it through walls too.

Both my NT brother and I can hear the TV hum, but neither of my parents. It must skip a generation :)

I had always thought that it was just because I had better hearing and a higher range of pitches I can hear...
