Waitafreakingdutchmidgetwearingaminiskirtminnit, MissPickwickian. You're suggesting that to have no empathy makes you evil? No. Sorry, no cigar - sure as hell no damn cuban. Empathy means, essentially, thinking and feeling in the same manner as another by their perspective - putting yourself in their shoes. I find difficulty in this, and don't do it and don't care. That doesn't make me evil. That doesn't make others like me evil. I am evil. But, that's because I have a goal in my life, and I will do anything - anything - to accomplish it. My intentional disregard for others makes me evil. Something beyond my control? No, I don't think so. Remember; some people with Aspergers have no capacity for empathy, even if they try to. Does that mean they're evil? Well, that's up to them.
I never said that. I just find that empathy keeps
me from being evil, to a certain degree. As long as you are working in some sort of moral framework, you can have as little empathy as you want or are capable of. Empathy is just an extra speed bump on the road to Dachau, not the
only one.
