There's one of those at the camp i work at( the OP's item, not the other one). Also has a the fiberoptic thingy hanging from ceiling and attached to a square mirror ( mirror faces down so you can lay underneath it an be surrounded by the FO's and look at them/you in the mirror.

Any think that flexes=stim toy

I laughed when I saw the header, til I realized I said the same word myself not too long ago, in my head with glee as I found something perfect accidentially-I don't remember what it was.

I used to call things I liked "trippy". Now I've learned that the same quality can be referred to as "stimmy". Doesn't make much of a difference, I suppose.

OP: That room looks awesome! I looked up an article about this topic and saw some photos of LFA kids looking at the lights and such. They looked so peaceful and happy, it made me smile, too.

Lol,
"Stim Toy" does sound kind of funny :lol: . I mean, the "toys" themselves have a useful purpose...but the name "stim toy" sounds like something you would find in an adult store :roll:
Sorry if anyone takes offense to this...but the name itself does sound like something a lot of people would laugh at.

i am not on the spectrum, and i would want one of those rooms, those look awesome! all the pretty lights and bubbles and stuff. i totally want one of those rooms in my house, but we'd all have to share! :lol:

Okay in all seriousness, now that I've amused myself by posting an image that didn't really belong, I think I'd like to contribute something useful.

This seems like an interesting concept. From what I see it looks to be mostly optical, but I see there are some additional stimuli as well. Apparently this is seen to be helpful, but how do individuals on the spectrum take all of the sensory input they're getting? I personally have a hard time just looking at the photos. I think all the lights would really bother me if I were actually there, unless they're dimmer than they look in the photos.
