Aaagh!! its so awful.

I cringe even considering it. Unless it is highly glossy or polished wood, to the point it doesn't even feel like wood anymore, it is quite awful.

I LOVE wood. I love running my hands on smooth finished wood or feeling the texture of tree bark. I also love photographing things of a wooden nature :>

Wood is awesome. I like using it for sculpture. That tends to require touching it a lot, so I apparently don't have a problem there.

Edit: In one of my sculpture classes, we had wooden mallets with the phrase "WOOD IS GOOD" (actually a company name) stamped on them. Many jokes were told.

That's how I feel. Wood is the best, natural and smooth. I've done some sculpture with it, it's one of my favorite materials. I have collected about 20 different animals carved for the tourist trade out of the most beautiful dense hardwood. I plan to use the wood and recarve them into real art. I guess it's one of my obsessions. I have a wooden coffee table that I carve and burn on when I'm watching TV. I recently did a bull's head on there. I love natural materials, wood, leather, stone, wool. The things I can't stand are synthetics.

I've never had any problems with wood at all. I've worked in a lumber yard, and also have enjoyed working with it.

I have serious issues with wooden utensils. Spoons, knifes handles, etc. They drive me insane. When I was younger my mom had to buy knifes with plastic handles. Any other kind of wood doesn't bother me at all. Tree's, boards "2x4's" for example, wooden tables, chairs. Polished wood and rough unrefined wood is okay, but that semi smooth cut they use for like large stirring spoons for example drives me insane.

I have no problem touching my wood but I don't want to touch anyone elses :ncool:
How could I resist that joke :? This post tittle was the perfect set-up.
Now that that's out the way...
My dad's a carpenter. I sometimes help him load & unload lumber from his truck, occasionally help with projects he's doing at home like making shutters, repair work on the house, racking up sawdust he made from cutting outside, move branches from when he trims trees, help pick up firewood he sees on side the road somewhere ect. I have some skin allergies so I prefer not to be around sawdust, handling lumber or firewood & branches but I'm kind of used to it & I shower well after. Things like wooden handles do not bother me unless it gives me a splinter or if it's kind of rough/coarse & I'm doing heavy use which can cause my hands to get sore & even blisters

I have an aversion to plastic. I can touch it a little bit momentarily (with fingertips) but a greater surface area of it to the skin really burns. It feels like it's corroding my skin.

I've never really liked wood. I don't really know why, but it might be because of the texture. All I know is this:

If i dont have gloves on my hands I well avoid any and all contact. even some fabrics cause the same madness

I can't touch things like velvet or courderoy. I don't really like to pet animals with fur. I love the way snakes feel. I got to pet an armadillo and rhinocerous and they both felt better than any furred animal. Birds feel nice too if but not penguins...they feel as if they have fur. My favorite thing in the world to touch is my bearded dragon, Pippin. I like to hold and cuddle her more than I do petting her. I don't mind petting furry animals and I like it, I just like the way non furry animals feel better.
