Do other people with asperger's get along?

I think it depends on the person. Can I get along with other aspies? It depends on who they are. Some are real annoying, same as NTs.

I got along great with my aspie friend I had for a year but I fought and argued a lot with my two ex's. The first one had traits and the second one was textbook AS.

I talk to lot of aspies online and the majority of them I get along fine but there was one who got real annoying so we stopped talking and then he stopped coming online. He even left the forum we both went to.

Realistically, one can't get along with everyone - that applies just as much to NT's as it does to Aspies.

When clashes happen between Aspies, we make a good job of it - especially when one side or both sides are heavily reliant on their own experience, and the experience of another is at such variants it just can't be accepted.

That's certainly a big problem for me - especially when said people try to tell me how to run my life!! There was a great example with a former friend who tried to stop me from getting the committee off the ground. I'd been working for a long time to get her self esteem level up without success - and she ended up trying to drag me down to her level. I reacted strongly and dumped her.

I don't know. I HAVE known a number of people that acted like they had AS. Although I don't think they had/or wanted friends, and didn't seem TOO friendly, I respected them, and think we got along.

I feel more comfortable around Aspies because I don't feel as though I have to put up a front, I can just be myself.

i dont think its any different than the nt population dude, i get along with some aspergers people and hate others

I get along with some other people with Asperger's just fine. They're just like any other people really. Other people absolutely drive me up the wall though and I detest them. So it's more to do with people than neurological states of mind.

I am blissfully married to an Aspie. We get along great!

My boss' boss is definitely an Aspie, but she either doesn't know or won't be public about it. She drives me and the rest of my co-workers flippin nuts. I wish I could pin her down and yell, "GO SEE A NEUROLOGIST! It's ok to seek help!"

Working in academia brings you into contact with many other AS folks.

I earnestly suggest spending a little time in mixed AS/NT company. It gives you a better perspective on how others react to your own behavior and why. You may find yourself pleasantly surprised.

It is of interest, however, that my friends keep surprising me with admissions of being affected with HFA, AS, ADHD, Tourette's, OCD (the stuffier ones), and schizotypal personality disorder. Honestly, I think that I am most likely a cross-section between these disorders.

This is 50-50 for me i got on well wid ppl wid AS but not all of them as they can b weird at the same time cos i can talk to NTs but can't make friendships wid them so therefore i would put AS ppl ahead of NTs.
