EXACTLY! we are picking up the brain waves! I can't imagine why not? If someone opens a box of regular laundry detergent in the next room I can feel it and my body reacts, so why wouldn't I feel someone's synapses firing and pick up on what they were thinking, too?

People sometimes try to guess what I'm thinking. Most of the time, they are wrong.

I am often misinterpreted, and seriously. But I took the question, OP, not too others reading me necessarily, but NT's mind reading abilities in general. That's what I meant.

My sense of paranoia is well practiced. I often expect that others will know my thoughts as earthling belonged to a telepathic race.

Based on what others think I'm thinking, no.

OK. This may be an odd topic, but I have to ask this question.
Does anyone else here ever get the feeling that other people
can read your mind? I'm not talking about hearing voices like
a schizophrenic. I mean that I will be thinking about something
to myself, and another person (frequently my husband) will make
comments on that topic. Sometimes it's almost like I can feel
the presence of their mind sitting in the back of my head,
listening to my thoughts. And they will use that information
to manipulate me.

ah. . actually they aren't reading YOUR mind, Bea, you are reading THEIRS.

I do this all the time. After years and years, I realize I am picking up their thoughts and then they say them.

it's weird. . but so what. As long as we use our gifts for good, I don't see the problem

I have to admit, I've had the same happen to me, particularly with family members. I'm not sure if it's just because we think the same being family, but often I'll think something, only to have someone else say it out loud. Other times I will say it myself, so the other person and I will say whatever it is simultaneously. :) (My sister can do it too, and she and I have had times where we've said several sentences in unison before now. :P It's especially fun when people who don't know us that well are watching! )

That sounds reminiscent of schizophrenia.

People in my immediate area can hear my thoughts because my thoughts are that powerful. I used to believe that the entire world knows my thoughts but now I just believe that people around me can. I hate the fact that my thoughts are not private. The CIA and FBI knows my thoughts as well. How exciting.

I know no one can read my mind because I'm still running around loose.

My brothers and I are really close, so we are generally on the same page. As for just about anybody else...Not at all.

I feel that way sometimes, but I don't want to.

I used to think this up until about age 15, mildly paranoid that someone could read my thoughts. After all, how else were they able to state with such clarity when I was being deceitful or being honest? But definately not anymore; such things as telapathy to me seem impossible.

People are strange; I'm one of them and so are you.

I've had a few incidents that made me wonder. People finishing my sentences, sharing dreams with my brothers/friends, and a stranger able to translate my gestures/babble accurately into understandable language. But if/when tested it's rather obvious that people can't read my mind, at least not reliably.

OH YES! My skull is like a faraday cage and no one can see inside - don't you just love that feature? It's like I'm mentally running with scissors! No one can know what lurks inside my feral autistic mind <evil maniacal laughter>
Mental rampage!
