Meh, except that there aren't more than a handful of "experts" in the autism world (and not always the best-known ones at that) who actually seem to know more than a memorized bunch of things autistic people do, combined with second- or third-generation guesswork (i.e. guesses made by looking at other people's guesses as fact set in stone, repeat as many iterations as necessary). Let alone any among those who know more than that who have lots of advice handy. Autism "science" is generally pretty appallingly done, although there are exceptions.
And even when it's done well... if you want to know the practicalities, it's not always the ones who study autistic people who will know them. Autistic people who have managed to do things and have traits that mesh with yours in a certain way, are pretty good to learn from.
I imagine that platypuses know a whole lot more about how to survive as platypuses than scientists do, and that they learn this from a combination of inherited knowledge (instinct) and (depending on how things work, which I don't know the specifics of in platypuses but which seems to vary among a lot of animals) learned knowledge from mother platypuses. They do not learn survival techniques from scientists generally.
