I used to do this a lot as a kid. It makes a really neat vibrating sensation in your chest when you hit the pitch just right, and hold it. I could entertain myself with the strangest things as a kid. There was beauty, and fun in everything.

The constant singing habit that I have is one of the things that made me wonder about being on the spectrum. I read a post on an ASD parents message board about their kids using singing as a stim, and I told them that's not abnormal at all, because I do it all the time. They insisted it was a stim, and was abnormal. After several of those kinds of posts I started wondering if these quirks of mine were more than quirks.

I sometimes do since I've always got a soudtrack running in my brain and I hum along. My 10 y/o DD hums all the time.

I do hum. But I try not to do it in public too much, although humming under my breath can help with anxiety. I like to submerge my head under water when I'm in the bath, and hum.

I can hum something known or repetive sequences with long tones.

I hum, I blow air hard through my lips so it makes a sudden screeching noise, I 'mey' like a sheep/cat thing as well ;) I do these when I am content. If I don't do them I feel like I will explode, haha!

Yes =)

I still can't remember what it's called, though. I want to say "modulation", but I looked it up, and it doesn't sound right.

Not really vibrato...I mean it kind of is, but I'm talking about the way the two notes play on each other and create this sound...dischord, kind of? But not.

I don't hum, but I make animal sounds.

I used to hum as a kid, but people's reactions were not nice, so I stopped.
