Consider yourself lucky for being able to have these experiences. I would do what Anna Banana does and explore it. Sounds like fun.

I used to have sleep paralysis and the dark figure hallucination, but once I realized what they were (neurological) I was able to start avoiding the panic associated with them. I would remind myself (during an episode), "This is just sleep paralysis," etc., and I would eventually wake up without freaking out.

On the plus side, if you can get the hang of doing that, you may also be able to become good at lucid dreaming.

Thats good you can rationalize that during an episode. How do you do it? Gosh, with all of this talk I hope I don't experience it tonight :(

It takes lots of practice. Just think about what you will do if you have an episode before you go to sleep every night. Your brain will begin to remember when you most need to. You will be able to become conscious little by little.

Actually I keep thinking that its NOT going to happen before I go to sleep and this may sound silly but I do think if it is true that evil entities are taking advantage of you while you are experiencing SP, I simply tell them to go away before I go to sleep. May be silly.. but whatever it is, it works! It's been a while now since I have had experienced it, or the hag phenomenon anyway. SP on its own is not the issue, its the hags.
