it all depends. can you keep a job? if you cant then maybe you should apply for ssdi. i would apply anyways who knows you might get accepted. dont think you have it made though, its not a salery you can live on but its better than nothing

If you're both impaired and could receive help (in any form) for your impairment, then a diagnosis if of course useful. I also educated myself on the disadvantages of a diagnosis beforehand.

It might be useful for personal reasons too, but that's something highly subjective and private. Nobody can decide that for another.
