I do think about WP when off-line, but not a lot. I tell my bf that he should read the treads to see how much he can relate to as he has AS traits; and since watching Magnificent 7, thinks he might have AS.

If I am thinking about things I might think 'maybe I should do a thread' or I might imagine such and such a member might say this or that about the subject I'm thinking about.

Yes, I frequently think about WP and even talk about it. And whether you're new or not, this fascination doesn't necessarily go away. :)

I tend to think about the people who post on WP. The site is a place on the Information Superhighway, but the people Like Alex and Serissa and Socky and many others keep the doors open and the lights on.

Some times this place reminds me of the bar Cheers, like how Tom, Prometheus, others and myself were saying 'Hi Norm' to everyone in the chatroom at one times.

So when I'm away from my computer, I always think of it like that.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

Don't ya mean:

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your nickname,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your nickname.

I do think about WP when I'm offline, and even talked about it to a couple of people. I've never met anyone else with Asperger's Syndrome other than on this online forum, so whenever I have freetime from homework and other daily ruitines, I write a couple posts on WP. I try to fit it somehow in my day with a couple posts every day, because I think it's actually healthy for us to interact with other people like ourselves. If we never interacted with other aspies our whole lives, we would consider ourselves as alone, then you'd be depressed because you'd never meet anyone quite like you who's not an aspie (in my opinion of course). But, yes, I do tend to think about WP because it's the only place I can interact with aspies.

Im glad im not the only one.... my dad says I spend WAY too much time on "the forums" lol. But my sister thought the Happeh saga from a few weeks back was interesting, but not enough to accually log on to read anything.

Same here. Do you think good things... or bad things... or some combination of both?

Sorry, I couldn't resist asking. WP is one of my obsessions and I tend to think about the people here quite often, some moreso than others, of course. ;)

Are you all ready for my ramble on and on?

Wrongplanet has changed my life also, since I had found out that there were people like me who have understood exactly what I was talking about.

I have been a member since the end of August 2004. I have made many good friends here. However, the environment here has changed a lot. The great number of members who once were close to Wrongplanet has diminished. Though, there have been many more nice new people who have joined.

This site has endured many a change since I had last joined. I had read a post on the "Cure Autism Now" group, and I posted the real name and e-mail address of a friend of mine. She is a very nice person who has a cousin with a severe case of autism. My intentions were good, but Dunc's wife (Mel, if you remember) deleted that post because I should not have posted someone's name and e-mail address without their permission. However, I am considering asking her if she would like to join the forum. Would you like me to?

Also, there is another friend of mine from way back who I had mentioned a long time ago. She is very sweet. She would like to teach kindergarten when she gets older. Unfortunately, she is no longer working at the job she had previously worked at because from what I hear, they need new people all the time there. Personally, I think it is a good thing because everyone who works there now is in a bad mood, I hear. The even more sad news is, her grandmother has osteoporosis. That is unfortunate, but she is an emotionally strong, persevering person. I think she would get along very well with all of you. Would you like me to ask her to join as well?

I will never, ever forget Will Freund's untimely passing. It made the news, and Alex was on "Good Morning America." He was interviewed by a number of people, and he put a lot of time into these interviews, as he was confused by why Will decided to commit suicide. I had never dealt with someone who had actually committed suicide before. That was a very sad occurrence, and I hope that situation doesn't happen again. I am puzzled by why it would. We are all intellectually together. This is why some people are still referring indirectly to the incident.

Next, Ashley and the troll incident. I couldn't believe it when I, as a moderator received a private message that someone was romantically interested in me. I was not surprised by that, but I know it wasn't true, and it was a joke. Ashley was very, very sick and he obviously had something going on in his mind when he said that. I think what he said had meaning, but it made no sense at all. He has since left Wrongplanet, and moved on to bigger and better things. That is very sad.

After that point, I had been PMing my so-called "romantic interest" ad-nauseum because I wanted to tell them that I couldn't believe that. I think they were getting tired of me contacting them because I was trying to show that it was an obsession. This person has been online in the last day, but they are not online right now. I think they took an extended leave of absence because of me, and I hope that's not true.

And finally, of course, there are the troubling situations that occurred with me which I had asked the people who wanted to know about them to send me a PM. Please don't hesitate.

All in all, I think this site is a Godsend, and I greatly appreciate the advice I have been given. I really like it here, and, to answer the question, yes, I do think about Wrongplanet a lot. You all are like the family I never knew I had. I hope my involvement with Wrongplanet gets stronger, and you all continue to support me whenever possible.

I would imagine you do think about wrongplanet a lot, you are the developer and are developing it all the time (when you can of course)

We're probably just characters in Alex's vast imagination.

His playthings.
