I just asked my bf why he said "Thanks a lot" and what was wrong with what I said and he said I was making fun of him. I told him I was not and how was it making fun of him that he better get going because he walks slow and he said "I don't know, it just felt like it."

I'm still confused by this. He said it was part of his disability and I said that's why I told him he better get going because he walks slow. I asked him why did he laugh then and he said he thought it was funny. I don't see how that is making fun of him so I guess I'll take everyone's word here, people don't like to be reminded about their problems.

In that case I would say that while he perceived it as you making fun of him, he still laughed at it coz it was genuinely amusing. My guess is that he likes to overcome adversity with humour. Which is a good thing.

I wouldn't worry too much about this, since he hasn't held any grudge about this and I don't read this as anything where anyone's feelings were hurt. Given you were confused as to his reaction, but since your concern here is whether he was hurt by your remark or not, I wouldn't personally say that they were.
