What would you do with your life if you didnt have AS?

Let's see:

-There is no way I'd be able to do as well as I do at uni/as I did at school => no full academic scholarship
-Odds are my entire course wouldn't be making sense to me either (only science girl in my whole family) and I'd be doing something else like arts instead
-I wouldn't have my current boyfriend, because one of the things that made him like me was my brutal honestly and lack of mind games, something he'd never really come across before.

I'd be a completely different person. I cannot predict where I would be and what I'd gain without it. But I can work out what I'd lose. And I'm pretty happy where I am especially now that high school is well and truly over
Only thing I can predict is I wouldn't have had a few years delay compared to everyone else in terms of finding a job, learning to drive etc. But who cares, I can do those now, just because Im a bit slow initially at picking these things up doesnt matter in the long run

I would almost definitely be the billionaire head of a multinational corporation I built up myself from scratch.

I can't say.... I'd be complety different.

If I didn't have Aspergers, I would be able to go outside more and I probably babysit kids and I would probably LOVE babies. I would have a boyfriend because I'd be able to have eye contact and socialize correctly, plus I would be less obsessive. I probably wouldn't major in Graphic Arts, since without Aspergers I wouldn't be creativity. I wouldn't verbalize my thoughts, so I wouldn't freak people out so I would have tons of friends. As to what my Major would be...maybe childcare, or maybe just a liberal education? Also my intelligence would be dumbed down, so I probably would have never been on the National Honor Society or have graduated in the top 20% of my class. Also I wouldn't purposely bang my head either.

Life would be well...better, but I'd have to make sacrifices, but would I be a better person?

I don't know if I have AS or not.
But if I'd be completely normal, I'd like to think the following:


- I'd have pursued a career as an actress (as I would be able to hold down waitress jobs etc. to earn money when not acting) and been accepted at the school of performing arts or I would become successful at cultural anthropology as I'd be more social and outgoing.
- I would've successfully finished high school without failing 3 times (like I did).
- I'd have a boyfriend who didn't treat me like crap as I'd be better at judging someone's intentions and personality.
- I'd go out with my girlfriends and we'd occasionally meet up to go shopping and we'd just have a blast each time. We'd hug each other and I wouldn't cringe or feel like a fake.
- I'd be able to get a job as I'd be able to handle job interviews better.
- I'd be able to go to the store whenever I wanted and going to school wouldn't be a daunting quest every day.
- I'd be able to verbalize certain reactions in a way that didn't feel fake.
- My living space would be so much more organized and clean. And I wouldn't have trouble organizing my bills etc.
- I wouldn't shut down when trying to stand up for myself.
- I'd get my driver's license and would be able to cycle to places and take the bus.


Blah. I think my life would be a breeze compared to now. Though I DO realize that everyone has there problems whether NT or AS and you should be careful what you wish for.

I probably would have had a much happier childhood as I would have had social skills and therefore would have been less likely to be bullied.

I would not be with my partner as he says my some of my attractions are that I am not like other women and also that I am strange.

The rest, I have no idea.

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but being NT doesn't make anything possible necessarily either...you can still be bullied for any number of things and not find the same success as many others might, there are no guarantees for anything in life.

I'd be completely different. I wouldn't be obsessed with SpongeBob which would change me a lot. But the good sidfe is there is a likely chance that I would be more social.

I would still have to deal with being transgendered. BeingAS makes it easier to be transgendered, as I can obsess easier and pick up on the feminine mannerisms I need to learn to make myself pass better as a female. As a kid, I supressed and effectively killed most of my feminine mannerisms in an attempt to try to be ok with being born male. But I am not male, and I now have to learn to not act like one.

I don't really knooooww... because I don't know how it would effect me as an artist... I think I went into art school because it was the only thing I liked, and I didn't consider it a career choice, or even see other college options as valid. I just wanted to learn to be a better artist. I think if I had been NT, I might have been better in school and maybe studied more, and set more academic goals, so I might have become a scientist of some sort. Like a biologist.
Buuuut now I'm stuck with an art degree and no self confidence which is no good for a freelance artist, LOL.
WHAT A PESSIMIST, GEEZ. Actually I'm happy. Just in a pickle. D: But pickles come and go.

I would go out, meet people & make friends. I probably wouldn't know as much as I do about psychology (a previous obsession) which wouldn't make my life very interesting in my opinion.

Well, I wouldn't be me so I have no idea what I'd do.
