What's the point of moving out at 18?

I did it because I was desperate for some sort of proper socialization and/or rite of passage....and by that time I had already been in a very controlling relationship for a few years, and maybe secretly I wanted to escape..
I moved in with two girls who I worked with...because they had room for a third roommate..Granted..it was a horrible disaster...I was light years behind them socially and emotionally and automatically the "black sheep" of the household. When I was that age. I really had no real notion of just how different I really was from those around me...because I was so isolated by my lifestyle at that time...but I certainly got an inkling from that that experiment.

I was kicked out for "not fitting in"....yes I was really told that....

I attempted again at the age of 22 and have been more-or-less out of my parents house ever since....

A good reason I have aside from the ones listed is that my folks live in a little bungalow that is infested with cats.
