Never.

I used to watch wrestling when I was little, but that's not a real sport, and there's no reason to watch it now that WCW is gone.

My dad and the rest of my family are always watching sports, but I just can't get into it at all...though sometimes I like to "veg out" and watch dirt bike races, or demolition derbys. I guess I just like to see stuff get mashed @_@

Yep, pretty often.

Like any good Edmonton resident, I cheer
for the Eskimos (Canadian football) and the
Oilers (NHL) in season.

I watched the Tour de France for some summers
(the Armstrong dynasty), but now I wonder if it
isn't the Tour de Blood Doping (i.e. the proving grounds
for the latest and best ways to cheat in endurance
sports) anymore.

^ Nuh-huh! Doping was the norm in years past. Almost every cycling pro of LA's generation has doped. I think he has too. But the tests weren't very good and so the guys got away with it. It is only the past few years that the tests caught up and they are catching the cheaters. Cycling has never been cleaner!

I used to watch football alot, but I realize now it was so I could fit in, not because I was really interested in the games. But talking about the game seemed the easiest way to relate to others, something I have always had great difficulty with. When I was kid, I was really into baseball, especially the statistics. I would pore over baseball cards, memorizing the stats, organizing the cards all different ways, keeping score cards etc....As I got older, and actually tried to play some of the sports I liked to watch, I lost interest, mainly because I was so absolutely terrible and clumsy.

No. It bores the hell out of me. I have never understood the "joy" of watching someone else having fun.

Basically sports is a substitute for wargames, so i rather spend my time playing a Tom Clancy computergame like "Rogue Spear".

My NT brother is very into sports. I'm not, though if I'm at home and he's watching a game, I generally watch as well. I know all of the rules of football (American), hockey, baseball, etc. but don't really delight in following statistics or teams.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, and almost everyone is into sports. It's sort of a mania. I remember in the 90s when the Penguins won the Stanley Cup in back-to-back years. You couldn't go anywhere without someone talking about the Pens. It was fun.

I heard that they just won the Stanley Cup again this year. My wife told me a few days ago, and I thought, "Oh, that's nice. My brother will be happy." That was about all that news did for me.

whoa dude that's gnarley man! i was born in pitsburg the year the pens won the cup , now i live in ottawa canada but the last two years the otawa sentoers were out of the playoffs i chered for the pens both years cried when they lost to detriot this year chers and me going crazy singing escape the fate this war is ours and jamiing out on my guitar hero guitar,. as you can tell i am a hockey fan it is hard to be canadian and not be a hockey fan other sports bore the hell out of me i play most sports but hate watching them.

Never. Sports are rigged.

I do from time to time. I've supported Bolton Wanderers all my life so If they are on tv I watch or if its a big match such as two of the big clubs or internationals.

I used to follow all sports. My father followed them and it was a way to relate to him. I got to like watching, but as the years progressed I followed fewer and fewer of the different spectator sports. I am now down to listening to baseball games on the radio while I do chores. The amount of time they used to take up is incredible. Spectator sports are one of the few ways to make small talk to NTs, as most NTs follow sports, it seems.

Baseball is the most AS friendly sport, as it is the most statistics oriented. It also has the most history behind it. Ken Burns' documentary about baseball (on PBS) is well worth watching, even if you are not a fan.

I voted "Faithfully, all season" but only as described above. I figured "watching" includes listening. I try not to take words too literally, but instead, I try to figure out what the real intent of the question was.

Yes! These are my sports too! Love the ToC in my backyard--I got to see both Super Mario and LA race after they had "retired" and each spring see the San Dimas stage race in my backyard. Have volunteered several times at Kona IM. And, yes, despite being a runner myself, not particularly interested in watching running, unless a friend is involved. Not at all interested in watching just about anything else, even stuff I do.

Oh cool! Do you ride a lot?

I was supposed be down in Sacramento this past February to see the prolog timetrial! I had a room reserved and my bags all packed and ready by the front door.... and a foot of snow fell on I-5 on the OR/CA border the night before my drive! I was soooo bummed. Next year I'll just fly into Sac early in the morning and fly back home in the evening.

Shouldn't be a problem next year, though! We may have cycling overload next May...

I am riding only a little these days. I broke my shoulder last year and my ROM is not what it should be, although it is improving. Mostly I run, because I have a multi-stage trek planned for this summer/fall. After that is done, I plan on cycling a lot more. You'd laugh if you saw my bike--when I got it, only the Terry fit me (very short). But it works for me.

Stay safe!

I only watch if there's a big game on or during the Olympics.

I actually like to watch and play team sports. I just have one problem: when I played, I routinely messed up because I couldn't anticipate other players' reactions, unless I had a very specific assignment (i.e., American football and basketball on defense).

^^^Hey woodennickel, I know this has nothing to do with the topic but.
On your sig, I never knew that, I bet in holland it would get confusing because someone could be talking about a disorder and others think they're talking about a vegetable.
