Why do I get so angry when I see people ignoring the rules?
I used to get very upset when rules would get broken because it would make things very confusing for me about what the rules are and if they had changed and also because there was injustice in the school system. I would get in trouble but not the other kids and it was all unfair. Somehow the rules didn't apply to anyone else at school but me.
Now if anyone chooses to break a rule, their loss. Not worth getting upset when someone decides to break a rule and having my day ruined. If they get caught their problem. I did see a car drive past a school bus last week when it was stopping and put the stop sign out and then I saw a police car come out and chase after that car. I thought "ha ha."

If a law is truly BS, like "donkeys can't sleep in bathtubs," there are actions you can take. You can petition, vote, sue, even run for office, etc. You have a lot of legal options if you don't agree with the validity of a law.
However, laws like "wear your seatbelt," "don't run red lights," "don't go over - mph," "cross in crosswalks with signal," "put your baby in a secured baby seat,""don't steal," "don't rape," "don't murder," "don't have sex with twelve year olds," "don't buy/sell drug x," "don't do drug y without a doctor's prescription/supervision," "don't enter the country without documents or review," "don't grow anthrax at home," etc. are all good reasonable laws that should be followed by everyone, and enforced consistently. A lot of laws have a lot of sad stories that inspired them.
I can get quite irate when people break patterns of what I think of as basic politeness. I think it's because when I was young I had a hard time incorporating them myself. Now that I can "play nice", seeing others not bother to do so really, just ![]()

I dislike when people break promises, rules, laws, ethical codes, or moral codes. But my first and primary reaction is confusion not anger. Most of these rules are either so easy to follow and/or so important to follow.

I agree with BetwixtBetween's and Jackyl's posts above. These rules are reasonable, and if I can learn them and follow them, then so can people without social disorders.

I don't get angry very easily but seeing people breaking the law (speeding, teenagers drinking) and the rules (skipping queues, not picking up their dog's faeces) makes me very angry for some reason. Does their intuition tell them it is acceptable? Do some people feel the law doesn't apply to them?

exactly. especially when precious lil "friends" act like they have a moral entitlement to veto anything I do they do not like. but when they do something illegal (jaywalking, littering, off leash dogs), they say "i don't know if it's legal", or "people do it all the time." that was
so
condescending. that was like saying that they are "people" and I am not a person. it was like saying they overpowered me b/c they outnumbered me. but there was just one of him/her and one of me. likewise, the world contains a lot more convicted rapists, than Nobel Prize winners in Physics. it does not necessarily follow that the activity with more participants is more morally justified.
Some laws are just silly, and some govts are also corrupt. Russia for example 'no offence to any Putin supporters or Russians who frequent Wrong Planet'.
Unfortunately sometimes following the law to the T can become detrimental to basic rights, depending on what a countries laws are. Also im reasonably sure a number of laws in different countries are almost never enforced due to their pointlessness.

I think alot of laws that are made are badly implemented and not often discussed at length prior to implementing.
26. In Britain it is illegal to handle a salmon in suspicious circumstances.
27. In Vermont, a wife needs the husband’s permission to wear false teeth.
30. In Oregon, talking dirty while having sex is illegal. Even though they don’t really specify what qualifies as dirty talk.
31. In Utah you can marry your cousin, but only if you are both over the age of 65. Because, you know, when you turn 65 you’re known to have impeccable judgment. eh lol
40. In Britain it is illegal to operate a cow while intoxicated. wtf, how does one 'operate' a cow lol
43. In Florida, it’s illegal to fart in a public place after 6pm on a Thursday. Now thats just silly
57. In Switzerland, it is illegal to flush a toilet after 10pm.
62. In Tennessee it is legal to carry a loaded firearm into a bar. lol seems some laws are not only silly but stupid.

Im like over there, somewhere.....
In Oregon you must stop for jaywalkers and let anyone cross the street illegally when they are trying to cross. I once saw someone crossing the street and the crosswalk was only a few yards down and he couldn't even walk a few yards to cross. First thing that came to my mind was "He couldn't even walk down there to the crosswalk, lazy." It wasn't very far from where he was.
Also ice cream cannot be eaten on Sundays, I broke that law today.
Also dishes must drip dry but we all break that law all the time
One must not bathe without wearing suitable clothing, what is that supposed to mean?
And some listed as dumb laws I don't understand why they're listed as dumb such as "It is illegal to place a container filled with human fecal matter on the side of any highway." That is just gross and it starts smelling. We even have to pick up after our dogs when they take a dump so why would we want to do that with our own human waste? Laws get made for a reason and the fact that people were actually doing that, they had to pass a law about it. Same reason why they had to pass laws about using cell phones while driving and now they are talking about banning all electronic devices while driving and passing a law about it. All I can say is "I can't believe they have to make a law about it" because people lack common sense. They think they can multitask on the road.
