Using sarcasm on an autism forum is counter productive. Obviously some people will take it literally.
I sort of did but I didn't care enough to find it insulting or whatever.

- my good delayed recall and memory for details ....it’s quite useful in university
- my ability to hyper- focus (especially on my idiosyncratic interests)
- the intense enjoyment I get from my idiosyncratic interests =)

I like that there is an inner "core" that is solely my own--something no one else can reach--where I can go to be alone.

I like that I can be interested in almost anything, and make improbable connections among subjects.

I like that I have never been self-conscious about my appearance (other than for job interviews, and that's something I have to really think about).

I like that I can always be content and happy with my own company and rarely feel lonely.

I like that I am in a relationship because I truly love my bf, not because I feel I "have to" be in a relationship.

I like that I actually think about my motivations for my actions.

I like that I am DIFFERENT. :D

I love the smell of every starting season, especially spring, when the earth starts smelling powdery and warm , and every plant smells fresh green;but also autumn and that wet mud and rotting leaves smell, all of them. I love being able to stop everything and smell the wind until my head spins.
I love the fact that i can ride music like a horse and let it lead me into emotions i never feel in real life.
I also love the hunger for information, the need to learn, and the ability to learn anything i want to without ever getting tired of it.
All these things make me feel good about being myself, there are downsides, but these i wouldn't give up for the world, along with the animal instincts i have, that make me view my children as my cubs, and not the state's future employees, giving me the rage to protect them against everyone, including teachers.

I like having a logical mind and my ability to collect an endless amount of information on a certain topic.

:D It's like our brain is a flow chart.

I should make some quizzes specifically for 'connections between two or more subjects.'
I got a bit excited by that.

Watching slow moving fluids... I love to see how the light refracts. It's hypnotizing almost, and it's not just fluids but to convey what I like most of autism it will do.

I think in pictures too and when I was little I used to be able to "play" 2d video games in my head while at school or anywhere. I would apparently remember the mechanics/physics, don't do it with video games anymore but I still think in pictures and I like it too. It may be part of the reason I'm aloof. Guess I'm using it to picture atom orbitals and the electro-magnetic spectrum... I went to school for the wrong thing! hah.

I really should start to imagine playing a video game in my head. I have a memory of the first time I played Super Mario Bros. on 64 but to create my own levels would be awesome.

Sounds cool. An Aspie friend of mine used to have Photoshop in her head.

Nothing.

Seriously, I don't have any of the special abilities/talents some aspies have.

If I didn't have aspergers I would be superior to my current self in every way.

Bring on the cure.

I do that too. I guess I'm better at art than designing obstacles and enemies and such.

Whoa... every single one of these and add one more...

The ability to live my life outside of the "norm". Not waste my time with current fashion, current fads, current trends and culture.

I love those moments when I find something that is so simple and I bask in its beauty...and its becomes so incredible to me. Then I go a place in my mind where there are no words...just radiant overflowing wonder. In this moment I becomes more alive.

I also enjoy how I notice things that most people dont.

I like the fact that I have logical reasoning and am able to follow my own instincts as opposed to the feeling that I should always conform to certain norms. This is just as well given that I feel that some societal norms are too much effort or a pointless waste of my time to follow when I could be spending my time far more productively.
