Wow, i must be pretty bad then :/ i've been cluttering my bed for a while since as a kid. I used to have soft toys littered at the foot of my bed, then books were added to the equalsion. Then as a teenager it became books, bags, clothes, magazines, CDs, videos. My parents would chuckle at this quirk and ask how in earth could i sleep like that. It took up 3/4 of my bed. I then started to add empty fizzy bottles to it too, it was like a little nest. I slept on the edge a lot.

But i didn't have to share with anyone, so it was fine. But i'm 28 now and i still clutter the bed, which drives my fiancee barmy! I try and limit it to just my side of the bed, but normally i have clothes, hangers, coats, wires, pillows, cushions, books, touletres and post at the bottom of the bed. And i have a pile of stuff on the floor on my side of the bed. Tbh i can't even tell you what's there, it's a bit of everything. I don't even know why i do it, a lot of the time i'm not actually aware i'm doing it. I guess it's a nest like comfort having things surround you, bit like a security blanket, just a security blanket of stuff.

Not really. Sometimes I read before bed and leave the book on my bed, but as soon as I wake up I put the book on the shelf.

Ditto. Same with the occasional DVD case, remote controls, notebook/journal, a few other books, etc.

Also have 6 or 7 pillows and 9 stuffed animals.

It is when I'm not sleeping because I have my computer and my stuffed unicorn pillow and a book (sometimes books) and a patchka (a string or scrunched up end of a piece of paper dangling) to stim with and a cup of tea resting on my computer. When I go to sleep I remove all these things from my bed so I have room to toss and turn.

As a child I had piles of books and assorted toys and I loved lots of blankets. Since I grew up I have just had a bed with pillows and duvet but because it has been very cold here recently we have put a heavy blanket on top which i find really comforting and then there is my book, iPad, cushions ......

I usually sleep on a beanbag because it's much more comfortable. It's not a proper bed. The carpet around it and beyone is full of junk - many books, old empty packets of potato chips etc, junk mail, random plastic bags, empty tissue boxes, a suitcase etc. There's very little room for walking. I only make sure there's nothing that would attract pests such as cockroaches, ants, mold etc. But because of this junk piling up and filling the room, I haven't been able to vacuum the room for a few years. When I think about it, I feel disgusted.

I sometimes have had a cluttered bed. I don't think it's an ASD thing though, since I have seen NTs with cluttered beds. My bed doesn't get exactly cluttered. I just sometimes dump things on my bed when I think I'm finished with them but am not sure if I'm going to want them again later. I put my scarf on my bed when I come in if it's quite warm outside, and sometimes if I've been drawing a picture but haven't finished, I'd put the picture on my bed so I can remember to come back to it later, and if I don't, I either put it away in the drawer or just dump it on my chair ready for the next day. Otherwise, no, my bed isn't usually ever cluttered.

I make my bed the second I get up. I just cannot bare to see it unmade. I have 4 teddies on my bed, and two cushions, what I keep neat. And a fro at the bottom of my bed to keep the covers on.

:o

And here I was, thinking I was being very autistic when saying 'a bed is for sleeping'. Never thought of it the other way. I could never have stuff on my bed. That's not where stuff belongs.

I don't think having a messy bed is something autistic.

But if everybody here has a messy bed, maybe it is? 8O

I have 2 teddies on my bed (1 is a tattered but very sentimental bear), which I keep by my pillow. I have 3 cushions, one is for the teddies to lean against, one is to use to prop myself up a bit when watching DVDs, and the other is decoration (which gets in the way but I'm unsure where else to put it).

I have a blanket at the bottom of the bed, with each end tucked underneath the mattress to keep my bed sheets in place. I always make my bed every single morning without fail, which literally takes less than 3 seconds because the blanket at the bottom of the bed stops the sheets from scrunching up.

I love to have at least one teddy on my bed, but I know a lot of women that do, so I don't consider that unusual.

I hate sleeping with anything on my bed besides the mattress, sheets, comforter, and pillows, so I just remove whatever's on my bed and put it on the floor. When I sleep, I want the whole bed to myself.

It's fairly cluttered with pillows (5) and it used to be cluttered with plushies, but now there's only one plushie there, a turtle. Sometimes when I read in bed, I just put my book under my pillow before I go to sleep. At times I've also forgotten various items in bed, like lotions for my dry skin, Eurax for my itchy skin, or hydrocortison for eczema, or sometimes a piece of clothing like a sock or a T-shirt.

Just the standard stuff plus my hug pillow. Having something like a book or whatever in bed with me would drive me nutz.

My bed is covered in stuffed animals.

Other than that, no. Everything has to be put away on my dresser or in a drawer before I go to bed... So, my dresser and drawers are pretty cluttered!

I toss and turn a lot, so I would just knock everything off the bed in my sleep.
