i'm here too, nominally male but i'm very feminine for the most part.

I sometimes feel feminine too. (Even though I'm a male).

You're pretty loquacious with your writing, so you must have a feminine side.

i'm :? - are you referring to "jc6chan" or me? if the latter, then thanx beaucoup :) i am mostly feminine 'cept for a 'stache and soul patch as well as a nominally protruberant individual accoutrement

it could just be that females of any stripe [on the spectrum or no] are naturally more communicative than males of any stripe, and more likely to post on sites such as this one. just a thought.

I think that's probably a lot of it, I know that I don't post that often, even though I spend a lot of time on the site.

Last time I checked (which was quite a long time ago), Wrongplanet had roughly 50/50 male to female ratio. But autistic males outnumber autistic females more than 4 to 1. Are many male aspies not members of Wrongplanet? Or are a lot of male aspies severe?

Anyone know why this is?

I personally find it very encouraging as this just proves that it really isn't specific to our gender :)

We actually do have a lot of trolls here though. I thought that's where you were going with that. God that's a horrifying thought, they're all homeless.

Also remember that there are many mothers of autistic kids on this site. There are fathers, too, but less of them from what I've seen.

Save that crap for the PPR forum. In fact, just go there right now and get eaten alive. I'll use God for emphasis if I so choose.

Please don't expect people on the internet to talk in a politically correct fashion. It's not going to happen, so get used to it.

oh boy.... we have a live one here. FYI I'm a Christian to..... but I prefer working on my own life over declaring God's wrath over other people's.

There is an even gender ratio. It is pretty interesting to study the age & gender distribution in Aspie Quiz. There is a large peak for young males, which makes male score a lot lower than females on average. These are young NT males that believe autism is much more common in males. For people that are older, there is an even rate of participation, and similar scores. So it is actually simple. Society has us believe that autism is more common in boys, and that is why more boys believe they might be autistic, but as they grow older they no longer believe in these stereotypes.

But then again, if we define autism/AS as the stereotypes and misconceptions of psychiatry, there certainly is a skewed gender ratio, since autism is defined to identify boys.
