- as a child I slept with my head under the covers because I was afraid of the dark in my room, the darkness under the covers felt much safer.

- I enjoy sleeping fully dressed

- I keep odd sleeping hours, generally either an extreme night owl or lark, never proper.

I don't use sheets, I see them as impractical because I always kick them off in my sleep anyway. I sleep with my whole body (even head) under three heavy blankets, even in the summer. To solve the lack of air/heat problem, I use an electric plugin fan like a teddy bear. I also used to sleep on the floor of my room, and I also used to sleep rolled up in my closet.

legs crossed!! ! sometimes i have slept with my knees bent and my legs crossed if my back hurts. it sort of flattens out my back.

That's why I sleep with my legs crossed! Finally! Someone who gets that.

Hmm... I do this with my legs sometimes too. For the same reason.
I tend to sleep on my right side when not doing that.

I don't think my habits are too odd, but I like to go to sleep with my forearm against my forehead, partly covering my eyes and the duvet way up to my forehead as well. My 5yr old daughter is mysterious; we never know where to find her when we check on her before going to bed. She has a midsleeper bed, so sometimes she's underneath it. One time we found her sound asleep inside her ballpool, on top of the balls. A few nights ago, my husband came in for a torch as he couldn't see her anywhere and knew she'd wake up if he put a light on. She was on the floor beside the window.

I like to feel "trapped" when going to sleep.

I'll often lie on my front with my arms outstretched under my body (basically my hands end up under my legs, if that makes sense) in order to get to sleep.

Or, if I'm alone (i.e. husband is not there!), I may as someone already mentioned tangle myself up in the bedding.

I have also done the cross-legged thing.

I like sleeping bags, and will usually close them over the top of my head, but I don't usually do that with covers on a bed. I don't know why.

I relax when my husband holds me really tightly (though I can't usually get to sleep when being held like this and I roll over when I want to sleep), or lies on top of me (not in a sexual way ... but like a big, heavy, blanket).

I have no doubt that I would absolutely love a weighted blanket, if I had one, and that it would help me sleep better.

I am known for being able to sleep anywhere, but conversely I can also have great difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep - this is when the "trapped" thing helps.

interesting how many of us like to be swaddled, or weighted down, or have our arms confined!! !

i also had NO idea otehr people crossed their legs. it used to annoy my (ex-)husband as it would pull the covers off his feet. he said it looked like i was lounging on the bed reading a book or something, kind of casual-like.

I do and don't sleep under the covers.....basically I'll line up one side of the covers with the bed on top and then fold over the top whatever is left on the other half to sleep underneath....and if this sounds weird, I have a queen bed, so I have a lot of covers and I am paranoid of bugs crawling onto my bed since I have had bad experiences with that.

I cannot sleep with my hair flat our or in a bun. I have to have it in a ponytail, and I have to pull the ponytail behind my head.

I don't move at all wen I am asleep. If I fall asleep in one position, I will wake up that way...not matter how uncomfortable.

I used to sleep walk, and occasionally I'll talk in my sleep.

I either have to sleep with a heavy comforter on, or just a sheet, but it has to be a flannel sheet. The others are just too scratchy and/or tickely.
I cannot wear anything to bed if I want to get a good night's sleep.
I have to have a pillow wedged in between my legs and cross my top let over the bottom one while twisting my body from on my butt to on my shoulder.
I cannot have my face covered, but everything else has to be, except my one foot.
Actually, when I was younger, I had to have one foot out from under the covers. I used to joke that it was for temp regulation.
The pillow has to roll under my neck.
Has to be cool in the room.
Cats can be on the bed, but not at my feet. They get shoved off the bed if I feel their weight - even if they are not ON my feet.
I love sleeping in my one guy friend's shirts. He gives me a new one every once in a while so I can smell him. :)
When I had babies, I would let them sleep on the bed, BUT I would cradle my arm around them so that they would not fall or so my partner would not roll on them. (He never did anyway, but it was a fear)

I sleep under the covers all the time because I can't sleep without the weight on my body. Because of all the blankets, it can't be too hot in my room. It has to be completely dark in the room with some white noise of some kind, so I usually keep an air filter on. Used to sleep in pajamas, but now only sleep in an undershirt and underwear. Tried sleeping nude once, that was an awful sensory sensation.

I have to sleep with the ceiling fan on, even when it's cold. I usually sleep on my stomach, but kinda at an angle on either side so that I can still breathe comfortably.

I usually sleep with my arms close to my center of mass, and my hands right below my chin. Occasionally I might lean around a pillow or something.

I have to cover my right ear, wrap myself tight in the blankets and lay on top of my hands which end up "falling asleep" from cutting off my circulation. I hate the feeling of falling asleep and I will keep myself up until I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open at all. I have to sleep with the tv on either the E channel or Nick at Night although I don't when "The Nanny" is on because of her voice. When I'm not on meds I only sleep two or three hours a night.

I do that too, unless it's really cold.

I sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs, the blankets tucked under me on either side, with my hair straight up so it doesnt touch my face, and my hands squished under me, between my knees, under my pillow or wrapped around me in some weird way and then squished.

If my partner is facing me I face away and if hes facing away I face him... and I create a bit of a pillow/blanket barrier between us

I also love heavy blankets.

I definitely prefer sleeping on my couch above my bed. When I was younger, I often woke up under my bed!! When I was in my early years of college, I would fall asleep in front of my bed on my haunches and rest my head on my bed -- I found that I woke up easier that way! When I fall asleep in moving vehicles, I tend to 'double over' -- my face and my knees are close acquaintances :P. Erm... I definitely prefer to sleep without clothes ._. Sometimes I fall asleep with the pillow over my head, but not my blanket :O. And when I'm on the couch in winter, I definitely love to cover myself with the cushions!!
