Earplugs and the "earbud"-type of headphones with music.

I also just use earbuds (w/actve noise reduction, but that only reduces low-frequency rumble) with an iPod. My auditory-processing/overload sensitivity isn't too bad, and I can manage my reactions moreso, nowadays.

When I was a kid I loved ear defenders, though. My dad was a mechanic for an airline and had some old ones at the house to use when using the moser or chainsaw and such. I liked how I calm I felt when having them on. It made he world a nicer place to exist in.

I've wondered about gettIng full-sized headphones with noise-reduction, but I don't want to be a mugging target, so am not sure about doing that.

I always carry ear plugs with me just in case, I don't have a portable music player because I'm extremely technologically unsavvy, and the music gets in the way of my daydreaming. I've recently considered getting a pair of noise-cancelling headphones that apparently block out all noise, as in certain places like riding the bus and my cafeteria at school that would be really great, it's as close as I can get to selective deafness that I can turn on and off, which I totally wish I had.

I do, but I can't keep them on for too long because they make my glasses dig into my head, which eventually starts to hurt.

I have a pair of earing aids, that I wear even though I'm not deaf. I think they are fashionable and a necessity for me being sexy.

I grew up at a noisy street so I got used to it at some point. Therefore, no need for ear defenders.

Besides, I would sttract too much unwanted attention if I were to wear them... it's a risk I''m not willing to take.

i will often sit with my headphones in for hours without listening to music..

i have noticed that my kids have very sensitive hearing as well

Yes, I just bought a pair earlier this year. Mine are bright yellow coloured intended for use by construction workers. They are rated to 27 decibels.

Previously I used foam earplugs but found those uncomfortable if I wore them for more than an hour at a stretch. The construction ear muffs only cost $35 and so far have been well worth it. I'm wearing mine right now, in fact.
