Why? What good will it do?

Hi Ken, I don't know if you remember me, I used to post at ENworld too. I left for the same reasons as you. They don't like differeces there and anyone the mods sdon't like get kicked for te smallest things. But if the mods like you you can pretty musch do whatever you want. SO i left before they could ban me for something dumb.

I don't think anyone knew this there but I have AS too. I'm pretty good at hiding it though. I even had a girlfriend for awhile but she ended up playing games with my head. I think you probably went too far with the mods but it doesn't really matter since enworld sucks anyway. You are better off.

What's the link to the ENworld. I tried typing it in but got 'page not found.'

is this the same fellow who embezzled all of that money? i just did a search, and apparently a 'Kevin Kulp' of eastern penn, us was responsible for controlling fund raising money and distributing it. it ended up that he dipped into $21,000 or so more dollars. i'm not sure whether this matter has been resolved yet, or not.

sorry to hear about your game.

Its not the same person, this Kevin is in Boston. I don't have an issue with him, he is just doing his job.
Also, I only post here on this name. I find it insulting that people think I would be scared to post under my name or use other names to make myself look good.

i never said that you were posting under other names. it just got me thinking when i read tequila's post. i was thinking that there must be SOME people who do that. i'm sure that they won't come right out and admit it though. it's pretty funny that i got as many responses as i did. i just see it as pointless really.

TBH I think this was the point at which you lost your debate with EN World. Aspergers != Asshat.

I'm not sure why you kept telling them about Autism or what you hoped to get out of it. :?:

As well, if I am understanding correctly, you went into sport threads and started complaining about sports or being negative towards them? Is that correct? If so, imagine if you discussed a topic you loved and someone came in and started bitching it, mocking it, etc. Its not great.

There are many football threads on another website I talk on but, despite my hatred of football, I dont post that. Periodically, i might toss a friendly jab in response to them stating hockey sucks, but thats it. It stops the conversation. If you've nothing positive to contribute, dont post, especially if no one asked.

I dont speak to people unless spoken to. I know how people react, they dont need to hear every opinion I have. Do I have them? Yes, I have opinions on everything, but if a conversation isn't asking for my particular opinion, then I dont say anything. I can make everyone anywhere hate me by telling them exactly what they dont want to hear if its my belief.

Being authistic doesn't mean you get excused in such situations, it means you have to evaluate such situations with more care.
I for one believe they did the right thing banning you. Sorry to say it like this, but that's what giving authistic people a bad name.

However, I have been in the same situations, and understand you. You believed you where right. I know, I also believed I was right while I was obviously wrong. These are one of the most difficult aspects of the disorder, if you ask me. So, here's a big hug *big hug* and try to appologize to those guys, k? :)

Finally, if those of us with AS are to ever be accepted in society, then we must be willing to learn from situations like this rather than using AS as an excuse. If you think you were really right, then don't go back. I myself have fought for what I insisted was right, but I also knew the consequences in doing so. Please though, do not use AS as an excuse for your actions. You make the rest of us look bad.

Oh, please. Asperger's Syndrome is not a clique. We make ourselves look bad, not each other. And by saying "the rest of us" you made him feel singled out.

Maybe you all don't see how upset KenM is, but I do. His feelings are hurt. Let's be a little more kind to him, all right?

Calling him names like "turd" and "asshat" (I'm referring to other posters here) is not the way to show sympathy.

MikeH - If all KenM was doing was looking for sympathy and advice, then that is fine. However, from the gist of his first post, I gathered that he was looking for vindication from us that he is correct. Most of us however see that he was in the wrong.

With that said, I do not believe that name calling works either. That however is up to the mods on WP to deal with as they see fit.

I just got into a heated argument with my brother about this. At the end I told him that I wasn't holding everyone here to a rule, I'm just mad because I don't want to see KenM suffer, as some of you are feeding his flame.

You see, I have been in his situation before. I know how it feels to be the one being teamed up on. When it happens to me, I get angry, defensive, and desperate. When it happens, I feel utterly helpless, not like I'm wielding power and "using AS as an excuse" but like I'm being possessed by a blind rage. After all, my life sucks!

I think I'm going to start a thread about using AS as an excuse at some point.

This is a dangerous attitude that could lead to more serious consequences than getting banned from an Internet site. If you see a cop run a red light because he is in a hurry to get to Dunkin Donuts and decide "if he dosn't obey the law, why should I?" you could end up in jail.

I am a firm believer in free speach; however, I do not believe that free speach requires anyone to listen to you or obligates anyone to provide you with a soap box. It takes a lot of money to set up these forums; I have read that Mugglenet (the Harry Potter fan site) cost $60,000 a year to run. If we had the resources to set up our own sites, we could post whatever we liked; until then we have to follow the rules (including instrustions from a moderator) of those who did, even if they are silly and unequally applied. This is known as the Golden Rule: "the one who provided the gold gets to make the rules."

To clarify: I did not intend my post to be read as calling the OP an "Asshat". However, calling people Nazis (as the OP by his own admission did to the admins on this other forum) is arguably asshatted behaviour. I am sorry for you, KenM, because you were evidently very distressed by this whole thing, but there's just no excuse for the Nazi thing. These people told you in very clear terms what they expected of you while you were in their space, and through no fault of anybody's you found yourself unable to abide by their rules - surely then it's better for both you and them that you cease to post there? Their living room, their rules. Their server, their rules. That's basic Internet etiquette, along with the further addendum that if you don't like someone else's rules you're perfectly able to set up your own forum with your own rules.

Maybe he said "just like Nazis" to show the relationship in what he felt was his discrimination, without realizing the emotional weight of the word. That's something I might do.
