when i am in a hurry and the speed limit is 50kph, i stop and and turn the car around 180 degrees to my destination, and i put the car in reverse, and then i drive backwards at -80kph. that way i am 130 kph under the speed limit all the way.

I thought I was the only one who did that.

I know you can run a diesel or 2 stroke motor backwards. I've always wanted to try and do that with a VW or Saab and see if you can drive backwards in all 5 forward gears.

I guess you could do the same thing if you had a solid axle and you flipped it upside down so the pinion was flipped.

Several microcars built during the 1950's or 60's that did just that. In order for it to be put in reverse, you had to stop the engine and reverse it's direction of rotation. They were all two stroke engines that were originally used in scooters and small motorcycles of the period.

Well... in the interest of keeping it going... If the galaxies were to collide then life in both galaxies would cease because the immense heat would kill all life forms. So yes.. the light bulb would become quite unnecessary! However, you do have to wonder what effect the collision would have on the supermassive black holes in the centers of the galaxies. Would it create a space-time distortion that could possibly lead to a wormhole into an alternate universe where Earth still existed and aspies still needed light bulbs?

Hey, do we actually really know if they are not wormholes already?
Because, what happens to the rest of the supernova star, that colapses as a black hole?
I do not think anything like matter survives the enormous pressure,
where even the neutrons are broken.
Thus, if there is really no matter, what keeps the black hole in the shape?
I bet many black holes are actually wormholes.

Imagine all the beings coming back and forth through the holes.
Like demons, say.
Or angels.
No, they do not really need wormholes, but some others do, like those highly evolved aspies in other universes.
That are looking for the best quality  : )

Interesting theory... I like it! Also the odd thing about the supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies is that they are dormant and do not feed. Thus, you have to wonder if the nature of their internal gravity may be different. it could very well be that they are indeed portals through space-time!

These are good jokes, the thread has taken a wonderful turn, and I'm very happy that my joke went over so well. Now, here's another:

NT: Knock knock...
Aspie:

I tell this joke in honor of all those who've said they let someone else answer the door so they can go hide until they can see who it is.
