My son, 8, is absolutely wonderful with younger children. He always makes them laugh and they completely adore him. He will also seek out much older children (teenagers) and adults to talk with. He will avoid children his own age. I was the same way when I was younger, though, and still am to a certain extent.
yeah, my son does that too, being a clown with toddlers and a cool guy with older boys but rarely easy contact with children his own age (exept for one friend he has, living in another town at 16O km, but they see eachother quit often -holidays)
i have very easy with children, it seems i understand every age and can act accordingly,
as a teacher no problem either (although i had to learn it) they like my creativity.
but with my own kids it's tougher sometimes (especially when my husband and i are communicating together with them, it doesn't seem to work, it's either my way or his it seems. or, as happens very often, NT versus AS in a friendly way that is)
