How would you feel, say, if you were introduced to somebody by the words, "This is ...., she's an epileptic."
Fortunately i do not have epilepsy, but i would imagine that i would find this offensive.
In fact, i know a few people with epilepsy, some would never describe themselves as epileptic.
To be honest, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't mind - my epilepsy is a part of who I am, like my AS (and my fits are that vigorous that people need to know what to do if one should occur). I do find the term "throw an eppy" - when used to describe somebody having a temper tantrum - quite annoying, though, as it's always used by people who I'm pretty sure have never had an epileptic fit in their life, and thus don't know that it really shouldn't be used that way.
As regards the term "Aspie", however... I like it, and use it quite frequently to describe myself.
