When someone is talking to me I visualize what they are talking about. For instance if someone is talking about the t.v show they watched last night. I will see myself sitting and watching t.v. When I recall information from the past I have to locate the memory in my data bank (brain) which is all in images. Once the images are located I then can recall some of the verbal content. Most of the time I can see memories but I'm not able to put words to it.

I just started this because I was curious about the way other autistics think. I've heard that many of you think In numbers, pictures, or sounds. I haven't found a name for the way I think. I think in visual words. Like, when someone's talking, I see the words that they are saying right in front of them. Even when I'm thinking, I see the words. Doesnanybody else have a "weird" way of thinking too? :D

Hey OP, you've got synesthesia!

I have the same type; it's called ticker-tape. I literally see the words, but they're all in my head, which makes it associative synesthesia rather than projected.

Really? Thanks, I've always wanted to know what it was called. I tried asking my bt, but all she did was look at me funny. I googled it, and ended up finding out that I have ticker tape and mirror touch. I only thought synethesia was limited to colour vision sound. Thanks. :D

Glad to help! :D

What's in my head is like a real time version of one of those free-associating brainstorming boards, with various thought bubbles linked by connections and new connections being made as I apply new information to old. I have a true photographic memory for information, so I think of my brain as a sort of unusually cross-indexed encyclopedia, one that creates it's own entries when I manage to think around a corner.
