I love the movies, and go to all sorts of things, except movies with crashes (auto, explosions, breaking windows), flashing/flickering, or 3D, because of sensory issues. I also don't like realistic violence like war or gangster movies, especially if it's a true story. Science fiction violence is fine, because I can just tell myself it's just special effects. Yeah, I know the gangster/war movies are using the same special effects companies, but it's harder to suspend disbelief there. I'll be sitting there blubbering over Omaha Beach or whatever, knowing it actually happened.

I wish. If only cinemas aren't always air-conditioned... The only sensory issue I'm currently trying to deal with is the cold. I can tolerate the rest; noise, lights, scents of food, limited food options, crowds, no breaks/pauses...

Sure I would like to go (most at the time), if only if it's not expensive!! As long as I get to enjoy the movie itself.

No, I like to watch movies at home as I'm not surrounded by a bunch of people I don't know that will not shut up and I can pause the movie whenever I want.

I'm not a fan. it's always way too loud-especially the music. and the screen is way too big. and big people sit in front of me so like a quarter of the screen is blocked out. and if I have to use the restroom in the middle of the movie I can't pause it. it's also ridiculously expensive.

I only go if there is something on that needs a big screen to appreciate it. Always the sound is too loud and my ears will ring for days after.

It seems for many here the negatives are, too loud, too big, too many people, too constricting (ie can't pause, etc)...

Perhaps the biggest draw to NT people is the crowd itself. That warm, snuggly feeling (gack!) of being tightly held safe in the middle of a social herd...

I pretty much only go with My group of friends, or with my family, but never by myself...

Some of the sound effects that they have before the movie starts bother me a little, but not enough to keep me from going. Sometimes it makes me nervous when people talk during the movie too, but I just try to tune it out. I also try to go in the late afternoon instead of the evening since it's not as crowded and noisy. I've been going to movies by myself a lot lately, but I use to always go with someone else before.
