Not exactly, but a few months ago I was with a friend and a friend of hers, and her friend used "autistic" and "on the spectrum" as an insult toward her several times. It made me quite uncomfortable but I kept quiet. If it happened again I feel like I might say something because it makes me feel unwelcome around him, even though he probably wouldn't have said it if he knew I was autistic.

the fact that this person probably wouldn't have said it if he knew you were autistic is really off-putting. how did your friend respond? does she know you're autistic?

She didn't say a lot about it at the time, I think because she didn't want to out me to him as autistic without my permission. She kept telling him to stop, however and also seemed uncomfortable with it. None of us have ever discussed it, but her friend does know that I'm autistic now. He didn't apologize for it and I'm assuming it's because he's embarrassed about it as he apparently really respects me. I've forgiven him and just see it as an honest mistake but plan to call him out in the future if he missteps again!

A few friends jokingly calling me a savant actually led me here; which then begun a journey that has helped me understand myself better.

Yes. Its happened a few times. People say "what are your autistic?" and start laughing. Then I respond with a yes. Its pretty funny because then they get all serious, shut up and get uncomfortable. I find it hilarious seeing them get all silent and awkward.

My husband did before I was diagnosed. That kind of made me want to seek out a diagnosis because it's something that i never thought about before. I was called all kinds of things before: encyclopedia, crazy, wierd, nerdy, crackhead, space cadet.

I visited 4chan once, everyone acted like a jerk and I left without ever looking back. I found a much nicer and more fun home on Tumblr.

^ i suppose that is what happens when people are allowed to say whatever they want without fear of having it associated with them. in a way i appreciate 4chan's anonymity for allowing "true", honest discussion (sometimes), but i wouldn't look there for a buddy.

i just lurk and post once in a blue moon. i like it that way.
