Same. I do feel I would be into it if I did let myself try, but I haven't. There's just no room in my life for things like that right now.

I love playing Pokemon games, but I'm not interested in Pokemon Go because of all that walking about and interacting with people that it includes. Can't be bothered.
I'm holding out for Sun and Moon instead!

I've thought about trying it, but I'm not overly interested in it. I mostly just don't feel like having to leave my house.

It's too hot where I live plus I don't like walking around a bunch of hobos and junkies with my iPhone extended out in front of me. Practical reasons but also social anxiety as well, it just doesn't work for me.

I think it's actually pretty awesome. Everywhere I go I'm seeing kids and families walking around, exploring the city, being out. It gives people (kids, especially) who might not otherwise leave the house, or might just go hang out at the mall or whatever, a reason to get out into their community. Yes, there's dumb people who do things like walk out into traffic, but, those are the rare few you do hear about, compared to the thousands of people you don't because playing the game safely isn't news. And I'm frankly rather tired of people going 'why can't these kids just play outside. That's what I did!' Well, speaking as that kid-turned-adult who never got invited to play with those kids, who got bullied by those kids... actually I won't say what I'd like to because that language isn't allowed here

That said, I do not play Pokemon Go, nor do I have any interest in it. Just not my thing. But I can see the value in it, and I can especially see how it might be a really cool way for that kid (or adult!) on the spectrum who might not have the motivation or confidence otherwise to get outside and explore and have fun doing it.

I have friends who play it (it's super-nerdy around here), but I never really got into Pokemon so there's not really any appeal to me personally. I also pointed out to them that I'm on my feet 8 hours a day and want my ass firmly planted in the seat when I'm playing video games.

It is fun to see all these out-of-shape people tiring themselves out with the game, though. I tease them about it if we're friends; all in good fun.

As long as people aren't getting run over by cars or trespassing on private property I think it's fine. Most people could do with a bit more exercise.

How exactly does Pokemon Go even work? How are Pokemon located? Like are they in the environment somehow or are they just all random?

You can enjoy those ones to, game certainly doesn't require that you stare at the screen the entire time.

Basically you have the game open on your phone and the pokemon show up on there when you get close enough, and then you catch them on your phone. There is supposed to be an augmented reality mode that uses your camera to show the pokemon where it would show up in the actual environment when your catching it, but it hasn't been working on mine lately. Also there are certain stops that give you items which are located at actual physical locations you have to walk to, your phone shows you where they are but they don't work unless you walk up to them.

Its kind of hard to explain without actually showing someone the game though so not sure if my description is much help.

I think it is way to pay to win.

I've haven't had anyone talk to me, but I don't like it cause It's nothing like Pokemon nor is it Any good. It is also pointless. You can't catch them all. If you can't catch them all Then what is the point of playing pokemon.. Though I think I give this sort of fell that is not welcoming, cause no one talks to me unless the know who I am.

I've seen one that says 'find pokemon outside, find jesus inside' as well.

Umm ... Pretty much anything else? If you're walking around exploring or making a tour of the various cultural spots or points of interest in your city just for it's own sake, that alone seems more worthwhile to me than distracting yourself with a silly kid's game. People are capable of just walking around, getting some fresh air and exercise, taking in the world around them and enjoying life without some game to make them do it.
Maybe it's because I'm not into computer or video games, but I really don't see what worth there is in catching or battling cartoons.
I don't mean to bag out anyone who is interested in it, people are free to do as they please in my opinion, but this is a topic about being not into it and I'm not, I just find it very silly and a waste of time.

No, but it doesn't get people looking away from those screens either. You know, the concept of Pokemon was inspired by the creator's love of entomology. There is a human-imposed cap on how well you can do in that artificial world. But if you look outside... you can have the chance to see things no one else has seen, and further the expanses of human understanding beyond what it was before.

Sometimes I wonder how many young, potential entomologists out there get stuck in this Pokemon time sync and think of this attraction as nothing more than enjoying a "game," when the passion can become so much more when applied differently.
