Members are dropping like flies because of all of these problems.

I, for one, can’t blame Alex. We don’t know what he may or may not being going through. Let’s hope he can focus on this issue and find a solution. But, what if you were the one who was autistic and ran this site for 14 years? Maybe he’s considering shutting it down?

Unlikely that Alex wouldn't contact the modteam to advise if he was really incapacitated. I am more inclined to think he is busy with something elsewhere and perhaps has not opened the messages sent to him as yet. At his last posting on problems members were reporting some weeks ago he said that he had disable SSL as Cloudfare was causing lots of issues. But those issues are perhaps completely unrelated to the malware issues that a number of members hope will be dealt with asap.

Today I was asked to log in (not sure why I was even logged out) and once I entered my details, a red warning from Firefox came up immediately saying they had blocked a malicious pop up.

It seems that the front page and the log ins are still infected areas of Wrong Planet, and they are probably not the only ones.

I am sure that there are several members here with the extended knowledge to advise Alex on further actions if he wants to discuss it with them by PM. He is not responding to PMs himself, perhaps because he receives many many of them and they are too time demanding given other commitments he may have. If that's the reason, I hope he can delegate to someone else who is capable of dealing with the malware issue.

Potential new members arriving to the front page and being hit with the scam popup the moment they make their first click on a link are going to retreat and never return. I can't blame them. Existing members who have reported the issues have been somewhat baffled by the ongoing inaction.

Maybe we should all transfer to AspieCentral so we can have a forum that works properly.

That would change if we all moved over there.

They have karma ratings, to turn everyone into peace loving hippy robots.
They are also PG12.

Huh. Hadn't heard of that one. Doesn't look nearly as big as this forum, but at least it provides an alternative.

Most forums I've been on have a positive rep system. I'm not sure what you mean by pg12 since profanity is against WP rules. What they don't have is a glitchy server and website that's full of malware, and all the aggravation that goes with it.

WP has always had the largest community by far. But it's also been the worst site by far when it comes to construction and performance.

Had a look at AspieCentral once and it didn't seem at all PG12 and inhabited by peace loving hippy robots. There was a rip snorting fight going on with swear words, threats and biblical quotations. It was pretty over the top 8O so I backed away slowly then turned and ran :|

I've been an Aspie Central member for years, and it's always struck me as being pretty much the same as WP as far as members and content goes. It's biggest problem for me has always been its low activity compaired to WP. Although WP is on the decline and may just dry up.

Another pop up right after WrongPlanet loaded up. Saying my phone is dying and I need to install some crap app from Google Play.

Why doesn't Alex just sell the domain, get some money out of the site and let some else actually run it?

Sorry, it's PG13.
My mistake.

Do others here keep getting randomly logged out? When that happens to me these days I start wondering whether it's a hacker's decoy to steal passwords. I guess not, because WP has been logging me out randomly for years.

Or he could just give admin powers to a member. Most forums I've been on had two admins.
