...well, there is also "don't want to get it". Also, nobody is testing if a moderator is Autistic when they state so. A moderator could also be an autistic who does not fully understand the sometimes roundabout NT ways of thinking/speaking.

But who better to ask. I appreicate your advice, plus it is nice getting to know people.

I apologise if I have upset anyone.

I've read loads of books, so has my husband, but he says reading them, has made him think he is more indequate.

I just want to understand and educate myself and make my relationship better with my family.

Don't worry about it. You are more than welcome aboard.

If you wan't to know, if you have aspergers, you can take this quiz from the links below:
http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php

I don't know how accurate it is, but I think its a good start

OHHH... those vast numbers of badly behaving neurotypicals who post on WP.... when will the onslaught end?????

That...and all of the stampeding herds of unicorns...and the over grazing by unicorns! Will those issues EVER be solved?

Why are we devoting a thread to a phenomenon that does not exist?

I guess if I don't feel any hostility in their words, I don't feel offended, so won't matter. If I do feel hostility, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt for the time being, and if there's anything in it, they'll end up breaking the rules or showing other strong evidence of sustained malice. There was one guy not long ago who smelled of troll, and I gradually got more and more sure he was hostile. I've no idea whether he was NT or not, and I don't particularly care. He sometimes made vaguely helpful posts, which prolonged my doubt about what he might be up to, but then he challenged somebody's assertion and when they didn't respond, he followed it up by re-quoting the challenge a few days later, and made some comment about knowing he'd not get an answer. I can't think of any reason why he'd have done that except to gloat. I think there's always room for a shadow of doubt, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

NTs have a problem of coming across as hostile when in fact they're just trying to understand?

Wow, that's a problem that I have. Someone's trying to explain something to me and I just can't understand. I always end up coming across as argumentative when all I'm trying to do is understand.

She was until I pissed her off and she didn't come back

I also just realised who Soc reminds me of - Olympian Paula Radcliffe

You ran her off too, with your "humour"? Why are you allowed to do that here?

I'm special :P

Who else did I run off ? No it wasn't my humour it was my opinion and terminology which upset her , I can find you the post if you want to see what a terrible person I am.

I tried to edit my comment to take it back. I don't want to argue with you, I just wish you weren't allowed to run around the site winding people up and calling them names and being a jerk and disrupting other people's threads to entertain yourself and then apologizing insincerely when you are called on it like a child who was never taught how to behave.

I don't think anyone finds you as terrible a person as you find yourself.

Can we please not be personal?

My memory might be failing on me, but I don't remember seeing him acting like that.

Disrupting what threads? Winding what people? Calling them what names?

No one was complaining about Ferris but himself, he reported himself in that thread you might be referring, and is now being sarcastic as usual.

You could of fooled me

Now I will be accused of derailing this thread so I'd better get it back on topic.

Nt's post here as the autism law has not been passed yet so they cannot post here

I think the standard, non-pesky behavior is to readily give up understanding anything whose meaning wasn’t obvious to you right away, to fill in the gaps with as many stock assumptions as needed, and to pretend to have understood everything perfectly, either hoping they won’t notice your phoniness or blatantly not even caring if they do :D
