Do Horses Have Autism?
I love the way you think, MG. It's worth mentioning that horses are used in Autism therapy. My grandson goes to it. I grew up in Ocala, Fl. My grandfather was also a Veterinarian, so I spent a great deal of time with animals. Here's why I think horses are NOT autistic, but are wonderful creatures well suited to work with autists.
Have you ever walked up to a horse with a mischievous thought in your mind? They might not know exactly what you are up to, but they know you're up to no good and will bite the s**t out of you! If you interact with pure intentions, they like you better. Still, they can all bite.
Horses are very compassionate and aware of their strength. When I was a toddler, I got out of our house while my parents were sleeping. They found me sitting directly under our horse. He was very careful not to step on me. Elephants are this way too. When I would cry, our horse would make his way over to my room window and stand underneath it.
I think horses are empaths. I believe they are sentient beings, very similar to elephants and dolphins, whales, etc... All animals are wonderful, but some are more highly evolved, imho.
* I wanted to mention that I also love goats. My dad kept them for many years.

I grew up with goats, though when thw last one died we didn't have any more. They need a lot of looking after. Lovely things though.
Not had a lot to do with horses. A family friend brought hers once and tried to get me to ride it. It was a very tall horse, but I did manage to get on... But I am too used to bicycles. The lady said "Let go of his ears!" Well. I was looking foe handlebars wasn't I and trying to pull the brakes to slow down!
