I sometimes feel like I lack imagination in some ways but not others. I do enjoy fiction a lot. But when I read prose I just can't get good images of the settings or events in my head, which is part of why I mostly read comics. I struggle when I try to write fiction. I have an idea for a character and his backstory, but I can't form the world or get the story to flow in my head. I can copy drawings I see, but I can't draw well from my imagination like others do.

I don't know if anyone else has had similar experiences.

Yes, that's it.
I'm good at drawing from life or copying pictures, but not good at creating a piece out of my head.
Similarly, in writers' group when we're given a prompt and asked to write a story about it, I really struggle to work out what to write.
(Which is funny because I've actually written fiction novels - but my writing process seems a little different from the NT way of doing things).
