I agree with you. How exactly am I "suffering" from Asperger's? It's not a disease.

Like I said before, i also take offense to the word "special" to refer to anyone on the spectrum. Or that celebrities (like Ronnie James Dio on VH1 Classic) are begging on the TV for money to cure autism when there's still no cure for Avian Flu, AIDS, Cancer, Flesh Eating Virus and several other things that can actually kill someone. You can't get sick or die from Asperger's Syndrome (one kid in my high school actually stayed away from me and asked to be removed from a class because HE THOUGHT HE COULD CATCH ASPERGER'S FROM ME. I kid you not) therefore you can't suffer from AS. I have AS. I don't suffer. People are in awe that people with AS like Gary Numan, Bram Cohen or - the subject of the Blender article - Craig Nicholls can actually manage a successful career. These people are ignorant. Like you are Mr. Troll for calling us delusional.

I don't suffer - some might, but that's up to them to use the word 'suffer'. I don't 'suffer' anything thank you (and certainly not fools).

As for the term 'Aspie'... to me, that is a 'cute' word and kinda puts it down as a serious 'disorder' (hate that word too). "Aww, cute widdle aspie-waspie's having a meltdown!" But I've already explained my thoughts on that in another thread.

Well... it's easier than saying "I have Asperger syndrome". Plus, "aspie" doesn't sound vulgar when you say it.

Aspergian? That's my preferred word, and seems the logical form for it to take.

Too hard to pronounce, plus it sounds funny to me...

to tell the truth it kinda angers me to see people talk about us as if we are beings that have completely no understanding of reality, are delusional and are really suffering. now ofcourse we sometimes suffer from the downsides of AS, but then again all the self proclaimed 'normal' people suffer from emotional problems and that kind of things aswell, and besides i think we do not have a disability people in a wheelchair, or with crutches have a disability. we are just inconvenient for the rest of the world because we live in a place wich is dominated by a majority who most likely never even heard of AS and when they read an article about it think it's some kind of super dangerous mental disorder that makes us incapable of having a social life. thankfully there are still people who don't treat us like special but just acknowledge our existence and don't make a big deal about it.

seriously the press piss me off, perhaps it's time wemake a special asperger/autism union. or form angry mobs and beat up those kind of reporters and then tell the cops that the act of violence was done because we suffer from AS and so we couldn't help it. if they don't beleive the story they can ask the reporter who will then know the true meaning of suffering. damn i like plotting vengeances in my head

I am one of the few people on this board that has decided to fight this disorder.

Are neurotypical people happier than people with AS? Undoubtedly.

Depression and poor social skills suck, but the obsessive behavior has made me a better person.

Plus I'm treating the depression right now. Not with medicine though. And I'm much happier doing it my way.

my socialization sucks unless im within a domain of people in my interests.
