I'm very nearsighted with astigmatism in both eyes. I've worn glasses since 3rd grade. Without my glasses on, everything farther than 6 inches from my eyes is a big blur. A friend once asked me if I could read the numbers on an analog clock wall clock across the room from me without my glasses. I took my glasses off, looked around, and then asked, "What clock?" The white clock had blended completely into the blur that was the white wall it was attached to, and the black numbers and hands had blurred into a faint smudge.

I've got really bad eyesight. I wear glasses, and my eyesight is terrible without them. One eye is a little worse than the other, and my eyesight has gotten worse over time. I just hope it doesn't get to the point where I can't see.

I was short-sighted not too many years ago, but I somehow managed to outgrow it and no longer need glasses.

I've had to wear glasses since I was eight years old. All of my sisters, and my mother, are near sighted. I also have astigmatism. I recently switched to bifocals.

I wear glasses on and off since high school, for corrective purposes. Since 4 yrs ago, when I started working in front of a computer at 4-8 hours/day, I wore spectacles again. The other month, the eye doctor told me that while my vision didnt go back to 20/20, I can stop wearing glasses. But I opted not to follow her advice, because I love wearing them.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 13. I'm just near-sighted enough that I can't quite pass the driving vision test without corrective lenses.

I just found out by going into the opticians that it is 50/50 between people being far or near sighted.Looks like its alot more common for aspergians to be near rather than far sighted.

I'm nearsighted. Likely I could have used them since 3rd grade but being a stubborn person I am, put up with blurry vision until freshman year in highschool, when it got to the point I couldn't take notes...

I remember the discussion that got my mom concerned. It went something like this:

Mom: "Can you see the great dane over there?"
Me: "No. I just see a blur."
Mom. "You need glasses, I'll get an appointment scheduled for you."

I was very disgusted with the fact of needing glasses... I want perfect vision without having to see frames around my eyes. :( I tried contacts but can't get them on. Once they are on, not as much a problem... Just getting them on is impossible...

I still don't like needing glasses, but there's nothing I can do about it... I'm terribly blind without... Even the biggest "E" looks blurry without something.

With glasses I'm 20/15 which is better than the average peson.

I had an eye appointment this last week, so I will be getting a new pair. Silly me wanted to see the very very bottom row that the eye doctor said "only eagles can see" At least I am still 20/15.

I'm a little bit short-sighted. I could probably get by without my glasses most of the time but I like having perfect vision and I get headaches if I don't wear them for long stretches so I wear them all the time. I also like having them as a barrier between me and the rest of the world. I feel more like me somehow with glasses, which is why I've never considered wearing contacts.

I think my son maybe short sighted because he keeps missing things and having trouble spotting things over the road yet he spotted a gap in a bridge and we found a pool full of star fish down the gap.

I have perfect vision, but my other aspie friend is near-sighted in one eye and far-sighted in the other. 8O

My sight is fine, but I wear Irlens tints applied to plain glass spectacles.
