Why are people so weirded out by "Quiet" people?

I'm not scared of interaction. I just don't say much unless I can think of something insightful to say. I'm not good at random NT style chatter. Talkative NT's seem very random to me but whenever I try to be random they don't have a response and I start feeling weird.

Trying to be more talkative is pointless for me because people just don't get me and I don't get them. I think my sense of humor is too absurd / black for people and their NT style jokes just don't make me laugh. I'm seen as overly serious or "not getting it" because I don't smile or laugh about the crap they talk about. It's useless.

That's weird. I think I would be very easy to predict; I do the exact same things every single day!

It's not like I'm going to suddenly bust out with a bomb strapped to my chest and explode the building! :roll:

I just like to mind my own business and read my book.
