Asperger to be sent to jail for 70 years - Pentagon
The Russians were US allies until the cold war began in 1945. The reason the Soviets controlled eastern Europe has it's origins in the Tehran Conference in November of 1943. Stalin wanted a reward for the Red Army's Victories. Churchill and Roosevelt rewarded him with Eastern Europe.

BTW, ironically, any UFO related stuff is probably pretty much offline, as far as the pentagon is concerned. The Air Force hasn't encouraged reports for over 30 years, and the pentagon isn't into that sort of thing.
The ONLY country that can try him is the U.S.! !! !! ! WHY? Because THEY are the one having all that he put at risk. No other country has any legal standing, unless they want to say that one of their criminal's comfort is more important than the security of the PLANET! THINK ABOUT IT! If the locations of subs, that help to protect europe, are released, some other country might want to plan an attack against europe! If allied troup movements are reported, then all THOSE people could die. This is NOT about the comfort of one person, but security of secret tactical data.
And if he REALLY wanted to know about UFOs, why didn't he try FOIA? How about the skunk works? Area 51? The airforce? Frankly, his claims don't hold water.
He didn't put anybody at risk..he accidentally turned off a bank of 20 or so inconsequential computers, In terms of knowing what he was doing he used a relatively simple program which scanned for terminals which had been left with blank passwords - when one was found he just had completely free access toparts of the whole frame - that's more incompetence of the US military staff concerned than he being some china funded secret super hacker with passwords being passed to him by enemy intelligence services.
He said he did find stuff about UFO's yes he allegedly saw a document referring to 'extraterrestrial officers' which could be viewed in a variety of ways as to it's meaning - in the hypothetical event that it was real... also a picture of a craft that looked like a 'large silver cigar' in shape, That's all I remember *shrugs* He said he didn't record anything because the files were too big and he was on a dial up! LOL
Maybe skunkworks and groom lake etc are more careful not to leave blank passwords - maybe he did try there first with no success.
He got caught because he was stupid enough to start typing messages to one of the terminal operators, he says he was stoned at the time, about how he thought the gulf war was wrong because civilians were being killed in such high numbers - sounds like the actions of a really dangerous well trained spook to me
It's a flexing of muscle - it's obscene what the hyper paranoid US government intends to do to him.
Free world - bulls*it! overly nationalistic claptrap. The place is about to go doen the tubes in case you hadn't noticed best get ready to look for friends rather than blatting about starting conflicts everywhere jmo

I and my nation are not members of NATO, and the US is not our HQ, nor is its military our military HQ.
Incorrect. He did hack in the UK. He has never left the UK. In some countries images of inanimate objects are illegal, if you email someone in such a place such an image, should you be subject to extradition to be tried in their courts?
What has how much the UK wants to do with the US got to do with the issue? The UK is not McKinnon and McKinnon is not the UK. Either way, it is utterly irrelevant to whether or not citizens of nation A, who have never stepped foot within the geographic jurisdiction of nation B, should be subject to the legal jurisdiction of nation B. This person is a citizen of the UK and has never left the UK. He should not be subject to extradition to some other nation to be tried by a legal system that has no jurisdiction within the UK. It really is that simple.
If because the UK wants to get friendly with the US, it extradites someone in circumstances it otherwise would not have, that would make McKinnon a political prisoner.
Cake is not involved.

Still, you need allies in PEACE TIME so they will be there when you need them.
If not for the 20 Million Russians who gave their lives, the Nazi's would have won. I don't suppose you were ever told that bit in American schools.
I was about to say that. If the Nazi's took Russia things would have turned out quite differently.
I think people are being horrible in this thread. I believe Gary is innocent. And that's all I'm saying about it. No use arguing about it, especially with the damn American Patriotism in here. *gags and leaves*
It's debatable to what extent the US has helped the UK in real terms - I suppose you mean ww2?
I mean LOTS of things, but WWI and WWII are certainly a start. Let's face it. If not for the U.S., the NAZIs would have WON! Britain, in fact the whole of the U.K. wouldn't even EXIST.
Still, you need allies in PEACE TIME so they will be there when you need them.
How well do you know about your ww2 history and the construction of IG Farben? - I just ask because it's such a run of the mill position you adopt so immersed in emotive patriotic speil .. it doesn't necessarily bear relation to the realities of Wall st's role.
Really proud of your efforts in Vietnam too
It seems pretty serious, him getting access to classified information. What if there are extraterrestrials we aren't supposed to now about the existence of ? What if politicians made a deal with the ETs, they would keep quiet about their existence or the ETs will attack earth with their superior WMDs?
He could be putting us all at grave and serious risk!
He chose to live in the U.K., which has a formal agreement with the US that it will go through exactly this procedure in such circumstances. I'll be the first to admit that the law mandating his punishment is a crappy, useless law which needs to be restructured for anyone. But the idea that he shouldn't be tried in US courts when he committed a crime against the US government and his country has treaties with the US which mandate extradition in these circumstances is rather astonishing to me.

Well enough! Are you referring to things like dupont and standard oil? NEITHER is 100% innocent, and SO was one of the first monopolies to be broken up. Still, that didn't REALLY work. And Great Britain is NOT 100% innocent either. Problems exist even TODAY that are due, in part, solely to their attempt to grab territory. Some STILL affect the U.S.

Absolutely, if there had been no Eastern front, the Nazi's would have been through Britain in a week, and onto America. The debt the free world owes to the Russians is immeasurable.
He did not choose to live in the UK, is a citizen by birth.
I do not see why objection to this kind of extradition is astonishing, unless you assume that those objecting do not disapprove of the treaties and their implication in the first instance.
Ana with the oOs, your comments make a lot more sense to me now I that I understand you thought I was in the UK. I was scratching my head for a moment, but it all makes much more sense now.
I would hope something like that wouldn't be treated as seriously as hacking into military data bases. To me, a picture isn't much of an issue, unless it's a picture of top secret, classified images that threaten a nation's national security.
It might be a major matter in other places but it's difficult for me to understand why it would be.
If the roles were reversed, someone from the US doing the same thing to another country, I would want the same consequences to apply. It shouldn't be taken lightly by anyone.

His mother Janis Sharp, said: ‘I’m heartbroken at the lack of compassion shown towards my son.
Ah the mother doesn't want her son to go to jail just because he has the Aspergers. What if he did something a lot worse, murder? Would she still be saying that?
yes. And she wouldn't be the first mother that has done that.
